What would you want in the next update (0.90)?
Liowen replied to EvilotionCR2's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Move Minmus to Dres, and put Mun in Minmus's orbit. While under the hood tweaks are normal unimpressive to the general public they should be a priority, it could address a lot of problems with 64x that are in need of fixing. Easy customizable techtree's, the part order seems illogical to me. The reason for moving Minmus to Dres, or any planet minus a moon, is that would extend the area where there are biomes beyond Kerbin, and maybe make Dres a more appealing planet since if you want to see Minmus and its science you would have to go there. -
Just changed some settings and now I am stuck in window mode even though I have the disable fullscreen button unchecked. Grumble gurmble........

Good thing I moved my .24.2 save over today, I didn't figure the release of .25 to be this week. At least now I can finish my clean up missions before moving on to .25, and mods will get a chance to get updated as well.
-
Make a plane/ssto with them to see how they work, and launch it a few times. Then become bored with them since there is only one landing gear option that will not fit the part styling. With all the work to make the spaceplane + parts look nice there should be landing gear options that are in the body and wings, the current one doesn't look all that great IMHO.

Last Friday Squadcast - Accidental Information about 0.26?
Liowen replied to Alshain's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I would caution saying that the biomes will be exactly like that, or any, mod out there right now, they might take elements out of them but it could be something completely different. To me personally I am going to give .25 time to become a thing first before worrying too much about what is mentioned about upcoming updates, that whole cart before the horse analogy thing you know. -
I got the center section into orbit today for testing purposes, with interesting results (to say the least!). It is probe controlled so it can build up the needed life support before the crew arrives, as the crew of 10 will be the last thing to arrive to this ship/station. One thing I did notice after I had it in space, besides the interesting bit, is that I will need RCS ports on the craft to help move it around. While again this does not look like much it is only a small piece of the whole craft, and it needs to be pieced together in high orbit before it leaves on its mission. But now for the interesting bit.... Once in orbit I could no longer revert to launch or the VAB building, the buttons are there but no function, and I can not go to the space center either. Also I can not go to any other craft on the save, mostly due to the fact that they are no longer in map mode. Not only are all current mission gone from map mode but all bodies (with the exception of Kerbin, Mun, and the sun) are gone as well. This is something a bit new for me and I am not sure what is causing it either, but I will be figuring that out soonâ„¢. (Edit: Apparently soonâ„¢ means shortly after posting this. I looked back at my mods list and remember I had this error before and decided to try the fix I did with that on this, and it worked great! Basically I removed the CFG file from US_Core mod and it brought back everything, never understood why this works but it does and I am happy.)

Today I did a couple of things but I think one thing I did was the most important of the day, and it didn't leave the launch pad...yet. I made the, prototype, drive engine for my up coming project, it is the first of three but they will all share the same basic design. They are modular so that they can be used by the lander to go in closer to its intended target(s), and has an inflatable heat shield to aid with aerobraking. It features four NERVA engines and will be strutted to the main craft and lander via KAS struts, my hope is this will keep it ridged but reusable. Next up is redesigning the middle chassis and orbital testing, the goal is to have it fully automated before the crew comes aboard. There is also a thought rolling around in my head of reservicing one of my other crafts for the mission as well, but I do not know how it will fit into th project at this time.

Obsession with .25, .26, updates.... Stop the madness!
Liowen replied to xtoro's topic in Kerbal Network
Could just not read the posts relating to the hypetrain, that is always an option. I just find it odd the the op would make a post about the topic he is upset by, wouldn't that upset them as well since it is dealing with the issue that originally upset them? Or is my low blood sugar making a connection where there is none? Like not having enough blueberries in a blueberry muffin ....I feel robbed! -
Today I started prep work to get the 5 Kerbals down from the Spacestation since it is going to be decommissioned due to technical difficulties, or in layman terms: I am getting rid of TAC and which will delete the station and kill all the Kerbals aboard. I liked TAC but I have had to babysit the station when timewarping another vessel, and having it in LKO made timewarping painful (I could have put it higher but I wanted it easier to access while building). Plus with .25 coming I am considering doing something with remote tech and maybe a more realistic aero model, the second one I am still debating on yet.

I think the Kerbal's space suits might be faulty.

Catheter and a colostomy bag (minus the bag of course) would be the easiest answer. The liquid waste would freeze due to the fact that a liquid cannot exist in a vacuum, and if it were used properly it could propel the craft like a frozen pee monoprop (that's a pleasant image right there). As for the solid waste it would just float away somewhere, maybe seeding life on a distant planet. Kind of makes you wonder if that is how life on this planet really started......maybe not LOL. I really need to stop watching the science channel I am learning some really weird things..... -
Well for those long distance trips you need a place to let off some steam . Actually those are green houses from the OKS/MKS mod (pre-release update version). Bad thing is this is not even a third of the ship.... I must be crazy LOL
-
I had trouble falling asleep last night because I had an idea floating in my head on something I want to do, while this is a very early design this ship will carry a crew of 10 on a special mission. It will also need a plane and lots of science containers....
-
Today I designed a probe/satellite that will be destined for Ike/Duna, it will have one of each on each body. I would have done a rover for that landings but I only have access to the retractable landing wheels, so it would make a silly rover that could not drive anywhere. I may use the same idea for Jool and Eve in future missions to be my funds generators, but I have a different idea for Jool that I may do once I have the full tech tree unlocked. One thing I realized is that I need to remember to put antenna's on crafts so that I can send back science data. One thing that maybe someone could help me with though is how would I make it so the temp, grav, atmo, and barometer scans send back 100% of data but the mat bays and goo cans send back 0? I know it is a config file but not sure how to write them.

I took up another crew member to my space station to do more strutting, although I left 2 in the trunk and didn't notice until after I came back to Kerbin. The approach: Second a look from an Evaing Kerbal....

The 0.25 Waiting Room, now boarding passengers heading to Hypetown
Liowen replied to Rowsdower's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I would prefer a time traveling hype DeLorean, then I could use all the new shiny toys before anyone else when I cam back to the present. -
If you want to use anything new you have to upgrade, including consoles since they stop development for their older systems at that point. I guess that isn't forcing you to upgrade, but in someways it does since it is the only way to use other products. Also this statement in Frobes is the more troubling bit of the purchase, though someone will be ok with I guess as well...

If it is divided amongest the 3 developers that is still $833,333,333.33 (roughly and not counting tax of course). Still not a bad pay day for a game that cost, in terms of the big game companies budget, very little. As for Microsoft being a great company I guess you could say that....if you over look Vista, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows 8, making Xbox 360 not backwards compatible at launch, red ring of death, and forcing people to upgrade to an unstable operating system by saying the old one is obsolete, yet was 10x's more stable than what the new one was (I am sure I have forgotten a few things but these are the big ones). It is a smart move on Microsofts end though as it is a game that has brand recognition and a very large fan base, without them doing much work other than opening their pocket book. Think of all the development time, researching, artists, programers, coders, or even marketing campaigns since it is already out in force. It is what they do with the property once everything is said and done that has me concerned more than who has it really, my biggest free is it will turn into a micro transaction game and the multiplayer element will be pay to win (which was a problem on private servers not too long ago).
-
Be prepared for micro transaction in Minecraft once this has become official, and more than likely it will have less PC support as Microsofts efforts seem to be more focused on the Xbone. I hope that SQUAD would refrain from the greed aspect, but if the amount is high enough I wouldn't blame them either.
-
I have to agree if you do not like it don't use it, modders should be offering their mods on more than one service anyways. I tend to use Github or Dropbox links more than curse, or before that spaceport, because it is updated faster than any service like Curse. I like this idea, but on the same token do not stop using some other system in case the site gets buggy or has some issue.

Ummmm not to burst your bubble, but even KSP is, to some degree, a fantasy game. Just like fantasy football is a form of roleplaying, much like D&D you are taking on the role of a coach for a team.

For me since there is no option to have a selectable aerodynamic model I have to vote as disliking the choices, I would rather players being able to select how they want to play rather than being force into one type. Even though there is only one "stock model" people are still free to pick whatever mod they like and use it to make the game more fitting to them, but that is just my opinion on that. As for more parts that have a limited use (ie boat parts, weapons, and such) I don't really feel those are needed, at this time, as there not enough places they would be overly useful, personally I do not think I have done anything with the ion drive except for a couple of contracts. Planets and moons should be added, especially on for Dres and maybe 2 for Eeloo, for Eeloo it could be one of similar size. I like having more bodies to explore, but I believe they have stated that other solar systems might not be possible for whatever reason.
-
Or you could reward yourself for realizing that it was cheaper science wise to get the bigger dish, think of it as a research grant in the form of science points LOL.
-
I think the you might not be able to send anything back either, another limiting factor with not having the right dishes. I could be wrong on that though.

What is your favorte Joolian moon? (quick survey thing)
Liowen replied to HafCoJoe's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Personally I like Bop. To me Laythe is over rated it is a bunch of water with little to do, and it seems like the hipster place to visit. -
I have thought about making a craft with areospikes to land on Tylo, but I don't think it would work LOL.
