  1. Ok so I'm running into an issue and Its driving me crazy. I already accidentally lost my saved game ive had for years because of it. (my fault for not backing it up) Anyway so here is the deal. Obviously when 1.1.2 dropped it was time to make sure im getting the updated version as to not cause compatability issues. I literally wrote down the mods I use on a piece of paper, deleted every single mod out of my gamedata folder. And one by one waited for my mods to be updated so I can download and install. (side note: I use steam so the update tp 1.1.2 is automatically done as long as you have opted into the beta program. Which i have) So anyway, when i seen 1.1.2 was released I did as i said above. I made sure that all my mods were updated before i even started playing again. Once i got all my mods set up I started the game. The issue is that for some reason while starting up it says my version of KSP is not compatible with a few of my mods. KIS, Interstellarfeulswitch, and a few others. I double checked and made sure that i had the right updated mods which I do. So basically its telling me that I have not updated to the new 1.1.2 version. Like i said I use steam so it should have updated to 1.1.2 automatically. I even started looking around to try and download the patch so i could do it manually but i cant even find it to download. Is anybody else having this problem or am I just being stupid and missing something?
  2. Hi! By installing KSP through Steam (using the "Previous Stable Release" option), the version on the bottom of the main game window says "1.0.5.0", no build data. Just to clarify, I'm planning to stick to 1.0.5 until some bugs of 1.1.1 are fixed, which completely breaks game-play - in my particular case I say. My question: is this build "1028", with all the latest bug-fixes of original 1.0.5? If not, how can I get those? Many thanks!
  3. Issue: At startup, a window with just a black background, approx 1024x768, is shown for a couple of seconds, then the programme just shuts down. This issue is rather similar to this one, but at least in my case it does not affect the X session. Tried: 32 bit version, 64 bit version (by changing progr. properties in Steam client), both from Steam client and from terminal: same result. Executables in Steam KSP folder have x permission enabled. My system: *) KSP: 1.1.0 Steam version, fresh install, no mod, run under Linux (no previous version ever installed, just bought it!). *) HW: 4-core i5 3.33 GHz, 12GB memory, ATI HD 5770 1GB mem, 2 x 1280x1024 displays. hardinfo report can be found at here. *) SW: Linux Mint 17.3 (based on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS), latest available Catalyst driver. *) Player.log can be found here. No KSP.log generated (or I could not find it). I had great expectations from this programme and I am rather disappointed by this unfortunate start. I am a developer myself (of other kinds of sw) and I know too well bugs do happen; this seems a very basic issue, though. I also understand it might be rooted in Unity3D, rather than in KSP code: another example of how Unity3D multi-platform support sucks! Thanks for any help, M.
  4. Hey all, I decided to go back to the previous version using the option under the beta selection menu in steam. Steam installed 64 bit version of 1.1 along side the 32 bit version of 1.0.5 and this seems to be causing some issues. There are 1.1 parts showing up in the VAB/SPH when i had selected and loaded 1.0.5. Also, wheels do not respond to right clicking in the VAB/SPH and they don't respond to WASD when on the runway/launchpad. Is there an easy fix like deleting the 64bit files and folders? Is there a way to only download the 1.0.5 (32 bit) version without 1.1 (64 bit) piggybacking on the install?
  5. I recently got a new computer and I am unable to start KSP through steam now. Both KSP and the launcher run perfectly fine when launched from their .exe they just won't start through steam. When I start the game through steam in the library it goes from starting to running before ending out without actually doing anything whatsoever. I tried running KSP and its launcher as non-steam games to the same effect. I am currently using WIndows 10 64-bit, I feel like it has something to do with that but I'm not sure how to fix it. UPDATE: It seems forcing the game to choose a renderer through the startup params fixed it
  6. So, I'm running KSP on Arch and am unable to launch KSP. When launching from steam I can tell it launches the window for KSP but then immediately closes it. I haven't played in a while, but I have been able to play KSP on my Arch install before, so something changed at some point that I need to fix >_>
  7. If I go on steam and click play on KSP or click the icon on my desktop it just say "preparing to launch KSP" and the screen will just stay there and do nothing. When I go into the ksp files and open KSP form there it opens. I don't think I can submit a log here because its not launching. 8. After watching all of Scott Manley's and Danny2462's KSP videos I'm getting KSP. I also joined this forum with my real name to show sincerity and keep any anger I might have in check. I have a bit of history ragging on developers for what I consider unsafe design on Windows. Consider that I run 64-bit Windows 10 Pro and I have both User Account Control and Software Restriction Policies enabled. Should I purchase the KSP Store edition or the Steam edition of KSP? I already run Steam games without much hassle, including Portal and Portal 2, Duke Nukem Forever and The Stanley Parable, but I'm not sure if the Steam edition would have problems with mods and game updates. My PC is surely capable of running Unity-based games, with a Core i7-4771 processor, 32 GB RAM and discrete graphics. I've read through the KSP Wiki already and know that 64-bit KSP for Windows is coming. I couldn't find any caveats related to UAC either here or on the Wiki, though, and usually there's some page or post describing problems with non-admin accounts, UAC, copy protection failing with SRP enabled, that sort of thing. --
  9. Steam winter sale is on yet again. Bit of a change this year - there are no "dailies" or "flash" sales going on. One sale price, for the whole two weeks, on every sale item. This makes choosing a time to buy a little easier, but also makes searching for good deals harder - because the search functionality leaves a lot to be desired. And with more than 10,000 sale items just looking for random good deals is darn near worthless. So, we need to make suggestions to help each other out. I'll start: KSP is again 40% off ($24) Terraria is $3.40. All the Lego games are on sale too. There are a whole bunch, and they're all fun. Any suggestions for what I should look for?
