Hi everyone! I have been playing KSP for a long time now and wanted to make my own parts/mods. I wondered if any of you had any suggestions like what program to use, and tip and tricks! How long do you think it will take to make a simple part such as a nosecone? Is it possible for someone without much 3D design experience to learn how to make a part? Thanks, Gelix

I'm making a spaceplane with a wingspan angle that points forward. It looks pretty great and it works fine, but I can't get the Advanced Canards to behave correctly. Due to the angle of the wings, flaps are difficult to position, so I placed a set of canards on the nose of the plane. No big deal, except when I flipped the Advance Canards around so they point forward, they began to pitch in the wrong direction. They act like they're behind the CoM and I'm unable to do anything about it (That I know of). I tried right-clicking and changing the deploy state to "Inverted" but that doesnt change anything. It this a bug, or are they supposed to behave like that(?) or am I missing some function to invert the pitch? Edit: i'm aware of how control surfaces should behave with respect to the center of mass, i flip control surfaces all the time... it's just that these canards arent... Pic of canards deploying backward Screenshot of canard placement, CoM, and CoL

Hello fellow kerbonauts. I have just started playing the mod Realism Overhaul and it´s great! There is only one thing and I would really appreciate any help I can get with this problem. http://imgur.com/OPxK1lv I put the airstream protective shell on my rocket but it does not appear. All i get are these blue lines and when i run the simulator it is non existent. Even though the "base" of the shell is present. Is there a trick or what should I do? Really want to be able to send up satellites. /Donut Kerman

is it possible for someone to put this hat: (or something similar) on one of these dogs? Do whatever you need to, but the hat needs to not be mirrored.

The f-12 debug menu gives the option to have un-breakable joints and no crash damage. But even when i do my rocket still breaks up on water and land! Does anyone have an idea why???

Okay, I admit it took me a long time before all the atmosphere rebalance, but I used to have a functional, even simple, SSTO spaceplane that could get to orbit, dock with a station, unload cargo/crew, return and land more or less safely. The atmosphere changes hit and suddenly I can't even get off the -ground.- Every spaceplane I design seems to hit a max altitude of 3km and then gives me the middle finger and sulks until I land it again. I'm seriously missing my old SSTOs. Is there -anyone- who can tell me what I'm supposed to be doing now? My old pattern was "45 degree burn to 15km, 15 degree level there while acceleratint to mach 2, 45 degree angle until lack of air cuts the engines, switch RAPIERs to rocket, and bam. I'd have an Apoapsis where I wanted it and be ready to circularize." But now I'm STUCK. I can't seem to design ships with enough liquidfuel to get anywhere -near- where I need the rockets. http://i.imgur.com/R6gwiRY.png That's my current design. What on earth am I doing wrong?

Hello again all. So a question about KER / MJ and Delta V readouts. When building ships with KER and MJ to see projected dV but I have a hard time taking drag and gravity in to account when estimating my lifter's dV. Any advice or rules of thumb? Many thanks!

Hello all! I am new to the Kerbal forums, but have been crashing rockets since April 2015. I have recently been working on flying a SSTO, and have been having problems. I generally will get to a 70-80km orbit with no fuel left over. I use either RAPIER engines or a mixture of Ramjets and aerospikes. I generally fly a flight profile with a 30-40 degree climb to 10km, then I throttle up to full and go at about a 2 degree AoA. Once I hit about 1km/s speeds I pitch up to about 30 degrees, raising apoapsis. Can you guys/gals help? I don't know what I can do to save more fuel. Thank you in advance!

So I took a good break from KSP for a while and with 1.0.5 I have restarted a new career. One thing I'm noticing is a kill a lot of Jebs on reentry. Before the aero overhaul I just burned retrograde until PE was down below the surface of Kerbin for return and I'd just ride out re-entry. Now I am having to balance descent angle with how much time I spend at a given altitude for heating vs. deceleration. Unfortunately I have not yet found a comfortable return trajectory envelope. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? Many thanks. ~ash

So. This is my first post. Generally its here for help as to, Well, Get started, and, Like, Be able to do stuff... Actully the main thing here is: How do i get around better. Example: I want to find a specific post, Its a sort of old post, And isnt that popular, But i DO want to find it. Example 2: I want to find rather unknown systems for planetfactory/kopernicus. How do I find these posts quicker.
