  1. This post is WIP originally by @FauserneEist This mod adds keyboard lighting functionality to Kerbal Space Program. Talking about it really doesn't do it much good. Take a look at this awesome video from GameInstructor, who tested the mod and explains it very comprehensively: Features Function keys 1 to 0 are only lit, if the underlying action group actually does anything. The keys are displayed in two different colors, depending on whether the action group is toggled or not. The keys for SAS, RCS, Gears, Lights and the Brakes are lit up in different colors, indicating if the respective system was activated or not. The amount of resources in the current stage is displayed on your keypad and the keys to the left of it (PrtScr, ScrLk, ..., PageDown) The color of W, A, S, D, E and Q varies slightly depending on whether you're in precision or normal steering mode The keys for timewarp control are lit either red for physics timewarp or green for normal timewarp Full list of game effects Stylized Kerbal Space Program logo that fades in on every scene that does not contain any noteworthy keyboard interaction (pressing Escape to go to the menu not being noteworthy enough to light up the key) In the vessel editor, different kinds of keysets are lit up according to the current editor mode. Control keys and toggleable function keys are lit up in different colors, showing whether the function is switched on or off during flight. Reduced keyset lit for EVA mode Resource gauges displayed on the keypad and the keys above the UpDownLeftRight keys. Power failure animation on vessels that need power to be controllable Crash animation that triggers when crashing a vessel's root part Splashdown animation that triggers, when landing on water. Vessel electricity status displayed on any Razer mouse and mousepad connected Vessel heat displayed in three colors (blue = cool, red = warm/hot, yellow = you're in trouble), uses the scrollwheel and logo on mice and the bottom LEDs on the mousepad, as well as the keyboard logo. "Dear GF, please don't disturb me now" feature on the headset. The device is colored red, when you can't quicksave right now. Turns green once quicksave is allowed again. Vessel height above ground displayed on F1 to F4 keys (F1 = 10m, F2 = 50m, F3 = 100m, F4 = 1000m). The intensity changes, e.g. if F1 is fully lit and F2 is half lit, you are 30 meters above ground. Installation Unzip the release archive and place the 000/KSPChromaControl folder in your KSP GameData directory. Start KSP and witness the awesomeness of highlighted function keys while kerbaling through space (optional) Move the file ChromaAppInfo.xml from the mod folder into the KSP folder, to allow Synapse to recognize the game properly. How to support this and other great mods by zer0Kerbal *red box below is a link to forum post on how to get support* Kerbal Space Program 1.12.2 — Unity 2019.2.2f1 — .NET Framework 4.7.2 @zer0Kerbal is now the maintainer! 2. So here's a fun one. I use basic mods: KAC, KER, MechJeb 2, Chatterer, and [x] Science. I think they've finally caught up to version 1.4, but now I'm hitting a really weird glitch. When I do something to cause a new window to pop up in my game's interface, my mouse cursor will sometimes and unpredictably disappear. This has happened while modifying Kerbal Alarm Clock windows or even just mousing over the base game icons (like the mission button) to cause a window to pop up. The only way I can get the cursor back is to restart the game. I'm running KSP in Linux/Steam using an Ubuntu-based OS. I've tried verifying the local game files but so far that hasn't fixed the problem. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
  3. So, what I mean by this? For me the most crucial thing is that I cant change the camera span from middle mouse button to another button. It is a preference thing, but I only use the middle mouse for scrolling, I don't like using it for clicking, because of life span reasons. So for me in games the first thing is to change whatever is on the middle mouse button to the side buttons on the mouse or usually LeftAlt. So if anybody has any other thing related to this topic feel free to comment and I hope this will reach the development team someday and gets added to the game.
  4. Recently, have an idea of using controller to control in game, but I’m don’t know if that’s possible Do you guys have any idea? Does it require specific controller or extra mods to make it work?
  5. I recently found out that other players seem to have “Green effect “ on objects when their mouse move on top of them in hanger, but mine doesn’t have the effect and that let it harder to select the item I want to. Is this a bug or is there a switch to turn that back on?
  6. Hi, I just recently experience a problem, My KSP is suddenly unable to zoom in/out by mouse scroll on SPB and Flight, even it still able to scroll on parts catalog or on space centre, and still work like normal outside ksp. Here the screenshot from Gamedata My KSP log https://www.dropbox.com/s/ilsoed38eq9n72v/KSP_18112018.rar?dl=0 Many thanks in advance!
  7. It's been a long time coming, but Microsoft has delivered the promise of giving Xbox One owners the ability to use mouse and keyboard controls for a variety of games on the home console. Phil Spencer publicly revealed in September that Mouse & Keyboard support was coming In the November 2018 console update. Major Nelson later confirmed after the update went live in November 2018, in his blog, that keyboard and mouse support is now enabled for the Xbox One. This gave both developers and players more choice on how they want to play, gifting the user the choice to use a keyboard to type and carry out commands and/or use the mouse to navigate through menus, UI and play their favourite games the way they want to. The option is there for the Developers if they wish to do so states Microsoft. So I'm really wanting to know as a fan and a long time player who has bought 3 copies of KSP for 3 different platforms, when will Mouse and Keyboard support for KSP come to Xbox? The reason of typing such a fuss, is that the enabling of K&M for the console version of KSP will transform the console version for the better guaranteed. Compared to its PC counterpart, the console controls have never felt natural since its console release turning many fans off to the console version. I do understand that the Enhanced Edition (KSPED) brought many improvements but there is still one glaringly obvious function missing to make the Console version truly complete. What we need ia someone from the KSP Dev Team to please give us an answer on when and if this function will be coming to Xbox now that it is possible on the platform? As Xbox have said, this is down to the developer, wether to enable the function or not. Thankyou For Your Time.
  8. I found that MS re-released their classic Intellimouse in late June. I had one of these way back in the early 2000s and no other mouse could match the scroll wheel behaviour I'd grown so accustomed to. Found one of these things on the local Best Buy shelf and snapped it up. You should be able to find one there, or order them from the MS Store itself in a pinch. Very simple thing to use and still perfect for classic Halo on PC. Scroll wheel is great for fine tuning the stock manouvre node in KSP. If I find more of these things, I'm snapping them up as spares.
  9. I remember this being the reason I gave up playing KSP on my iMac a year or so ago, and it seems the bug hasn't been fixed yet. In the VAB or SPH (but also sometimes while flying an active craft as well), the buttons are rarely clickable (they highlight, but clicking has no effect, sometimes it helps to hold the mouse button down for a few seconds, sometimes it doesn't), the scroll bar on the parts panel seems to get stuck to the pointer and not be able to click off it, the camera randomly spins and changes angles without warning, it's basically impossible to build anything. As soon as you line a part up (after managing to get it clicked and created in the first place) the camera starts spinning on its own. If it spins to the right, sometimes holding down the right arrow button for 3-5 seconds will stop it, but it'll start spinning again after a few seconds. And if you somehow manage to be lucky enough for the camera to stay still for a moment, then you can't place a part because clicking on the attachment point has no effect and it just drags around with the pointer. Other problem is in flight mode, the same thing happens - the controls randomly keep pitching up, down, yawing left and right. It's as if KSP is picking up wasd messages without touching the keys - and this is only a problem that occurs in KSP, I don't have it with any other games or programs. Has anyone else encountered this problem? OS Sierra 10.12.16 Late 2015 27" iMac 3.2GHz i5 8GB RAM AMD R9 M390 2GB KSP version 1.3.1.1891 (OSXPlayer)
  10. I've searched forums, but I'm not sure I've seen this issue. Does anyone know why occasionally when loading into the Launch Pad from the VAB, the mouse & keyboard will become completely non-response for basic UI functions? I can still click on Unity-specific things like MechJeb or the toolbar. But the Pause Menu doesn't come up, Staging (from SPACE) does nothing. Changing between Launch Pad & Space Center or Map, etc. does not resolve. The only resolution I've found is to CTRL-ALT-DEL the game. Help!
  11. Hi everyone ! Following my last post (https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/164409-a-new-type-of-mouse/), I gathered all the information I wanted in order to prepare my gaming mouse project. I want to thank you all for your answers, there were so many ! This time, I'll try to answer to all of you, promise Now, I only need one thing to perfect my presentation : the configurations of the mouse for KSP. So I ask for your help again ! Here is the list of the buttons and X, Y, Z axis : - Left and right clics - 2 side buttons - Joystick button (you press the joy) - Analog joystick 360° : config on 4 directions - Analog tilt 360° : config on 4 directions - Translation up, down, left, right - Scroll wheel up, down - Scroll wheel button - Lexip button (under the scroll wheel) - Scroll wheel sensitivity - Mouse sensitivity - DPI (01 to 5040) You can set up all these buttons with the Control Panel. You can do what you want (keyboard keys, shortcuts, macros…). How would you configure the mouse ? Thanks again !
  12. Hi I work in a company which has created a 3D mouse designed for graphic designers and 3D designers. I find the format suitable for video games and I would like to know your opinion on the subject. Our mouse is called "Lexip 3D", it has a joystick and a tilt allowing movements in 3 dimensions on 6 axes. Companies like Dassault Systems have had the opportunity to work with. Today, we don‘t sell this product anymore but we are working on a new basis for our professional target. On my side, I would like to present some mouse’s configurations on video games to my superiors to propose the development of a Lexip gaming mouse. I had the opportunity to do some tests on your game: You can set the tilt, the joystick, the buttons as well as the classic keys of the mouse. As regular players, what do you think of our mouse? Would it be interesting for KSP? Do you have any configuration ideas? Thanks !
  13. I am having problems with my mouse inputs in my parallel windows 7 desktop, inside my mac computer. The thing is I have 3 mice and none is able to rotate the camera on any scene. Sometimes this happens and I unplugg and plugin again on different input entries and it starts working. But now I have been doing this and its not helping any more. What can I do? is this a known problem? Playing on modded and non modded is the same...
  14. If I right click in flight or anywhere, my camera rotates very crazy! With right click I doesn't mean something like "drag'n drop", noooooo, I mean a normal right click! And the rotation comes before the real "right-click" is executed, that means, "righ-click -> rotate -> click to open part gui". Can any body help me? OS: Windows 10 64-bit KSP: v1.2.2.1622-64-bit (unmodded)
  15. Well this thread is inspired by this cute video thumbnail, generic theme and lyrics: Mister Trouble never hangs around When he hears this Mighty sound. "Here I come to save the day" That means that Mighty Mouse is on his way. Yes sir, when there is a wrong to right Mighty Mouse will join the fight. On the sea or on the land, He gets the situation well in hand. rule: pretty simple share stuff about your mouse and eventually comments about yours or others contributors mouse keep things fun and cool. (non mouse users are welcome to because well evolution is like that ; ) 1 - : Mine really start looking like this and this are it's best friends because well getting old is hard even for a computer mouse but who said lifting rocket in ksp is an easy task ? ; )
  16. I am trying to display contextual information about an orbit just by hovering the mouse above it. Obviously, clicking on an orbit allows you to place a maneuver node at that position, so there must be a way to translate mouse position into orbit + obit UT. The question is how? The OrbitRenderer seems to have some info about that. It has a GetMouseOverNode function and a mouseOver member, but it is not clear what they mean. Does anyone have any insight on this? Thanks, Zentarul
