10+ Things to do While Waiting for 1.0

Continuing Scott Manley's "10 Things To Do While Waiting For Kerbal Space Program 1.0", I would like to start a thread continuing this topic. Things to do could range from being solely in game to things to do in real life! I'll start off with a few things to do:

-Either laugh or cry, depending on if you have finals ending before or after the release of 1.0

-Launch a model rocket in real life (from a hobby shop etc)

-Formally end your current space programs (by rescuing/returning ALL kerbonauts and/or deorbiting stations in a glorious manner)

-Attempt a last minute large scale mission (such as landing/returning from Eve, a Jool 5 mission, or a grand tour etc)

-Build the largest or fastest infinitude you can

-Attempt the countdown puzzles if you have not already

Now lets hear your ideas of things to do in the meantime!

I was going to build a last minute Eve Rocks Challenge lander, but I started to put one together and by the time I had something with 8,000 m/s dV, it already had 150+ parts (which is bad because my computer starts chugging after 100, and after 200 things start approaching unplayable), and every m/s after that was going to be extremely expensive.

Going to have to look around and see what the most compact Eve-capable lander is....

Build a 2.7km high tower of SRB's and be amazed at the carnage and the destruction!

...and then light up those boosters, causing a massive air strike, hundreds of simultaneous explosions, and other glorious fun!

Go on. Do it. You know you want to.

Here's a few ideas.

- Get a head start on 1.0's new atmospheric systems by installing Deadly Re-Entry and NEAR (or FAR if you're feeling bold)!

- Get a feel for ISRU mechanics with Karbonite!

- Watch some Scott Manley videos and learn some new tricks!

- Watch some Danny2462 videos and have some good laughs!

- Tune into KSPTV's 48-hour KSP 1.0 marathon and bask in the coming glory of 1.0!

- Go play Xenoblade Chronicles 3D; you'll probably get about 1/5th of the way through the game before Monday!

I'm in the "cry because it comes out right before my big test" boat :C

Not because I won't be able to play, no. Because I know my human limits, and I already know that I'll be unable to resist the temptation and will be playing KSP all day instead of studying, and my grade will be toasted like a Kerbal standing under a lit Mainsail. Oh well.

There is a solution to that which you may not be to keen on: study tomorrow instead. Or if you're going to need two days, get studying now!

- speculate on what the new tech tree will be like and where everything will be on it. seriously, am I the only one hyped for the new tech tree?

- feel disappointed you can't into spaceplanes

- feel mega disappointed tomorrow, and the next few days after it, are school days so you won't have time to enjoy 1.0 the same time everyone does

- I'm intrigued as well, you're not alone!

- Many of us would be happy to help you learn spaceplanes, having run that gauntlet ourselves; all you need do is ask.

- I know many of us here are in the same boat on that one...

Go into the VAB.

Exit the VAB, because that you don't know what to do.

Enter the SPH.

Exit the SPH, because you don't know to do.

Reload the HypeTrain.

Rinse and repeat.

This has pretty much been my KSP life for the last few days, sprinkled with a bit of pepper and forum browsing.

I'm watching the KSPTV 48 hour 1.0 special extravaganza. I am in pain.

I sadly must concur. Few of the streamers seem to understand how to handle the new aerodynamics model. The ones who do generally are the ones who have past experience with NEAR and FAR. I look forward to Scott Manley's turn, though; he's one streamer I know to be reliably capable.

When is he on?
