Have you ever had any interesting discoveries in KSP?

I'd like to know if anyone has ever made a new, funny, or downright weird discovery in KSP. To start, I'll share something I've discovered recently:

So, I was testing out a new plane when I accidentally EVA'd a kerbal instead of IVA. We were pretty high up, so I thought I might try to catch him in my cargo bay. Long story short, I failed, and decided to let nature take it's course. But it didn't. It appears that in 1.0.2, a kerbal's terminal velocity is sometimes slow enough for them to safely land in water.

I ran multiple tests and they all had similar results, first at lower altitudes, then went higher after each test. They all survived no matter how high they went. Heck, if you could attach a heat shield to a kerbal, I wonder if they could safely return from orbit without parachutes or engines!

Science, people.

Maybe a MOOSE-like system could be made? Some batteries, a 0.625 meter reaction wheel, a heatshield, and a seat..?

And instead of parachutes, you just eject out of the seat. I already want to build some prototypes now!

Well, maybe the discovery that (at least in 1.0) parachutes are the best method to prevent your capsule from going up in flames during rentry.

You can activate them even at 1.8 km/s and they will immediately slow you down to below overheating temperatures

(I assume they are a little bit more fragile in 1.01/1.02 however ... but had no opportunity to test it so far)

Yeah, if you deploy you chutes in 1.0.2. in that speed, they'll burn up. :P
