2 manned pod?

Recommended Posts

Now that we can fry to a crisp toast in the atmosphere, well sort of when Squad manages to fix it properly, it seems a bit off we now lack a specific re entry pod for 2 kerbals. now if we want 2 kerbals to come back down we would need a space plane, or put them in a bigger one, or put them in what should be a dangerous lander can

something soyuz like would be cool for the job, it would certainly make picking up lost kerbonauts more fun

Well, you always have the 2-seats Mk2 landing can ... Or just use the 3-seats Mk1-2 capsule, it has three but it looks very good.

By the way, Soyuz is a 3-men capsule, not 2.

i know soyuz is a 3 men capsule, but we already have one, something soyuz like would be good a fit though surely

Yes, but Soyuz is properly sized for one, two, or three, even.

I would also like a two-kerbal pod. It would make rescue missions / tourism missions a bit easier, or at least give you another option besides waiting to unlock the three kerbal pod, going with an automated vessel or kludging together a multi capsule ship. Maybe you could unlock it in the same tier of the tech tree that you get electricity in. So going downs one route through the tree gives you more crewed options, going down another starts you off on un-crewed tech, according to preference.

If nothing else I would dearly love to be able to launch a pilot and a scientist together for a bit of an early science boost. Or to level a pilot and an engineer together so that by the time I get to running missions where I care about things breaking far from home, I can - with a bit of planning ahead - have an engineer or two levelled up and ready to go.
