This concludes the present D:OB! Interlude sequence. Next time you see an update here it will be Hummlebee inbound to Kerbin SOI, possibly with a pause at KERBSTATION AWESOME! But before that there may be an Epilogue to Ch3 over on the Eve thread.

And yeah, 7.6M funds. I don't mention every contract but I am doing a lot of high value ones in the background. There are stations set up on Mun and Minmus to grab "mine xxx ore" contracts, usually for six figures. When Evestation docked to the Dipperkraft that fulfilled a big "Eve Orbital Station" contract for nearly 2M. At this point in the game money is really the least of all worries.

Also, at Bill:

1) Having a flag with your name is ... somewhat narcisistic ;)

2) Unless your dV readings are using atmo dV, that ship is not enough for what you want :D

Anyway, I still want to see how they are going to land their ship on Kerbin... or if they will. Duna planes normally fly like dogs in Kerbin anyway, so trying to land that on kerbin would be dicey even without one wing magically not giving lift ...

How did Bill beat the no win scenario? And how did Bill beat the no win scenario of kPad's provisioning profiles and distribution certificates? Trying to get Kapple to verify software so you can run the kraken thing on a kPad is like pulling teeth...

Love the "Bill Space Program" too. :)

You should read Eve: Order Zero if you haven't yet. Anyway, here's the relevant page, but if you haven't read the graphic novel, this is a spoiler of sorts.

Ahh, ok, I totally forgot about that one, heh. Still doesn't explain how he got around the provisioning profiles... ;)

In my Kerbalverse, Kerbals are one big happy spacefaring society with no concept of violence, so maybe their various OSs are also nice to developers? Nah, that's truly unrealistic :) Bill is just. that. good.

Yes, I remember that episode well. Except if it's Tuesday, or at night.

On that note, they might also enjoy something like Calvinball. :) (Yeah, I know, it's not a SF or even a TV reference.)

He was ...well, creative in his solution ;) The rules did not say at the time he couldn't tamper with the scenario, right? :D And it is not like if the scenario would not do something crazy like transforming Tylo in a black hole if the trainee somehow got a creative solution for the problems in it :P

Major X-post. Good to see that the station work is going OK. I, for my part, hate to make those big things and go for utilitarian and small as possible stuff , but I reckon this looks kool :D

And just like Scotty--who cheated in the same way--Bill ended up where he really wanted to be in the first place: engineering :)

Thanks! Yeah, I took a whole stream of screenshots trying to catch Lisa in a natural-looking expression. Failed with Val on that last shot, but knew I was not going to get anything better. She's pretty much thrilled all the time unless the ship is exploding. In other scenes where I've needed Kerbals to react 'scared' for an image I've actually turned on Whack-A-Kerbal and blown up non-essential parts of their ship, but that does not work very well for interior views.

Jeb may get the accolades (and the snacks), but Bill is looking more heroic all the time. Despite his eccentric beliefs.
Glad you think so! I've always thought it was the non-"heroic" characters who stepped up when needed that made the best heroes--Sam Gamgee, Neville Longbottom, that sort. We'll see just what stuff Bill is made of before his tale is finished...
