I got some photos.

Note that the date on the second row is wrong, and should say 1/7.

This was last night:

(Also, Cherrybrook Observatory is really just my house.)

The one on the bottom left looks like it was taken from the surface of Eve!

(On an Aussie note, I spotted the 2 of them while I was down near

(The Entrance is a town on the Central coast of NSW, not a euphemism.)

Ohhh, so that's what those are! Saw them for two days in a row, told my wife in the car that those two stars are bothering me, haven't noticed them in the sky so bright and so early in the day ever before, but didn't think much more of it.

Turns out it's a rare event and I just shrugged it off haha.

yeah, but isn't today the last day? and it's still cloudy.

If I grab the definition for a conjunction, the conjunction in right ascension seems to have passed. I think the conjunction in ecliptical longitude has passed too, though it is still a rather neat sight to see the planets so close.

If I understand correctly there are a second on July 31 and once more on October 26, 2015. This has to do with the perspective and the planets reaching the apparent end of their orbits and swinging back, as a elliptical motion looked at from the side become a linear oscillation (though the speeding up and slowing down over that line is not linear).

Absolutely not.

It would rather help if you would also post you reasoning.

I simply did a Google search for the current planetary positions and picked the first decent looking one that did not mention the zodiac signs, which is this website. Apparently there is a free phone app too.

I tested the app and it is great. You get a neat little solar system orrery, with all the planets (including the dwarfs) and the major moons. You can switch between realistic or simplified views, can take a look at all the objects up close, you get some information along all the objects, you can set the date of the orrery, fast forward or reverse time, switch viewpoints to a body or subsystem and even a moving sky chart is included. I am not sure who made it and why, but they certainly did a good job.

A very neat app indeed, and it comes at the incredible price of no dollars! That translates to no euros and no pounds, for those coming from other parts of the world.

Greece should relish that right about now.
