Actually, they did surprisingly. I flipped it and managed to slow down by smashing that fuel tank into the ground. Then when my pod bounced back up I turned it to resemble a wheel and spun it. When it hit the surface it just started rolling.

total epic moment there.

I had just had my first landing on the Mun in .15, and after a particularly rough landing, my ascent stage was on its side. I used RCS and landing legs to right myself.

I immediately tried to puddle jump to the giant rock arch nearby. Of course, MechJeb landed me on a steep slope. Hilarity ensued.

So maybe using, uhh, 12 retro-solids to brake when spinning out of control is a bad idea. At least the crew survived.

I guess it\'s time I showed my fireworks again =P

This was from 0.14, so I\'ll remake this in 0.16 to try out the new explosions!

Oh, and sorry, but this is a video, not screenshots...

I am not sure how the jet engines ended up above the explosion, but there you go.

Lucky Jeb wasn't on this mission, seems his seat exploded first.
