Rescue Kerbals on Kerbin Missions

I get missions to rescue Kerbals and all kind of bodies but not for Kerbin. I think it would make a lot of sense if stranded Kerbels after return from space would need rescues on Kerbin too. Would also add some sense to the currently fairly useless atmosphere only airplane stuff (except for scan this and that missions). Kinda missing that.

You are looking for a contract pack called Kerbin-Side Jobs, works with Kerbal Konstructs + KerbinSide, which adds many different types of bases to the planet. The missions include crash investigations, survivor rescues and moving people from one base to another. Get CKAN to make download and install easy.

You can land anywhere on kerbin and have the crew AND ship recovered, so this idea makes zero sense.

I still have to get there and recovering far away from KSC costs quite some funds. Also the mission can test whether the recovery takes place in the vicinity of KSC. Just a question of how it is implemented. My main concern is that regarding all the stuff we have to fly around on Kerbin we need more to do on the planet.

Maybe he doesn't want mods. Im fine with pointing out the existence of mods, however I dont like A mod does this, no need for it in stock style replies

And yes, I'm not a fan of mods. Playing mostly vanilla except for chatterer and alarm clock. Also if I'd be content with mods then I wouldn't need to post here, would I?

You mean like you have to recover them at KSC?

The pick up point for the Kerbals should be reasonably far away from KSC but the recover function should either only be available lets say in the bright green gras part at KSC or at least the mission payment should depend on how close you are to KSC when using the recover button to finalize the mission.

I think this is request SHOULD be addressed by mods and not the stock game for a very specific reason: It requires you to act in a different way than the game requires you to act normally for no discernible reason.

Any vessel, part, or Kerbal anywhere on Kerbin is recoverable for free, and you get a refund for the parts as a bonus. Having people on the surface of the planet that you not only can't recover, but can't even get close to, put into a ship, and then recover that ship is not just needlessly complicating things, it's breaking the rules that the game has set down.

Well it would make some sense, as the only signs of any intelligent (somewhat) life on Kerbin is the KSC.

Though it may be irritating if you have to rescue someone standing 5 feet from the launch pad. Basically a $30000 piggyback ride back to the KSC.

It only "makes sense" if you have to do it with every craft you launch.

Why can you recover your own guy in a massive ship on the North Pole for free, but not recover some dude standing off in the grasslands west of KSC?
