Unfortunately that station has been lost =\.

In its place however is the Combined Kerbal Orbital Operations Station. This huge 120 tonne station houses science experiments, crew quarters and almost 13,000 Liters of fuel storage for orbital refueling.

and it was a right pain to maneuver them together lol

Oschon-E clipped through the terrain at 11.8km and exploded, so I am going to call that the highest point on Eve(within ~30 meters, it's pretty flat up there).

Also found a spot for a new resort.

Come for the views, stay because we don't have a rocket big enough to get into orbit!

EDIT: Something I just noticed; the indicator on the atmosphere bar in the first pic is just a little bit to the left. It would seem that the atmospheric density at the top of that mountain is about Kerbin-normal.

Edit2: After several attempts, I can conclude that terrain on Eve breaks at about 11800m and you pass right through.

Can anyone else confirm?

My first successful round trip to Duna :D

This ship was designed as the lander stage of a two part mission, intended to land on another planet and reach orbit again, then rendezvous with a return ship in orbit. However, since this was my first attempt at designing a full round trip mission, I over engineered it just a wee bit... The flight was originally just supposed to be a test flight to see if my design had enough dV to reach Duna, however after discovering that my transfer stage had about three times the dV needed (courtesy of the new nukes), I decided to try in hit Duna anyway, even though I was nowhere near the right phase angle. After pushing my ap out halfway to Jool I finally got the intercept. A long wait and a very fast aerocapture (many quick loads) later, I was in orbit. I finally touched down in a broad valley in the northern hemisphere.

With seven almost full tanks in the lander, making it back to orbit was never a question, but I was curious if I could make it all the way home. Reaching orbit left me with a little over one tank full, just enough to escape and drop back down to Kerbin. I was a little late for the launch window, but I decided to try it anyway. I was able to pick up the intercept, and then eek my Kerbin pe down to about 3,500 km before my tanks ran completely dry (again, many quick loads). With no rcs or other alternative propulsion, it looked like I was stuck, until I remembered that plane change maneuvers are most efficient 90 deg from target intercept (I had been doing them just outside DUna's soi). Waiting 1/4 of an orbit later I was able to easily dip my pe into Kerbin's atmosphere with plenty of fuel to spare, which turned out to be a very good thing. Since I had originally designed the lander to never return to Kerbin itself, it only had one parachute, which had been used on Duna. Fortunately I had just enough fuel left to slow my descent. The time was tricky (many quick loads again) but by slamming on the throttle just as I passed 500m I was able to slow down enough that the capsule (but nothing else) survived. Riblas, Bartburry, and Gergun Kerman were finally home. :)

I'm guessing that this is the same bug that's causing landing problems on Gilly and Bop. It has something to do with a difference in the loaded resolutions of visible and collidable terrain. Occam's Razor would suggest it affects all planets and not just Gilly and Bop. It's just that you only notice it when the terrain is extreme.

After about 5 years in a one-man capsule, my experimental outer solar system micro-moon lander approaches Ike.

On final approach, the view includes Duna, where another of my experimental landers sits.

To be honest, this was my 6th landing attempt, as I practiced several times before making the "real" first landing. An unexpected hurdle was that this ship is so small that firing off the decoupler to eject the interplanetary stage throws it several dozen meters up!

By the way, is Ike pronounced like "bike" or i-kay?

Been reading on these forums for a while but have not posted yet.

Got the first part of my space station in orbit but the main engine got blown up during seperation.

Here's a small mission alblum of a suborbital flight inwhich I used IVA and discvored a feature a of it, too.

I use the scroll wheel and realilize that I can zoom in with it!
