Disclaimer: I don't use the forums on mobile, all of this is for desktops.
FAQ on functionality:

A: The forums don't host images, so you have to use a photo-hosting site, like imgur.com. A direct link (i.e. xxxx.jpg, xxxx.png) to most images will auto-embed, or you can hit "Insert other media" then "Insert image from URL."

After comments by some users, I have found a way to filter your custom activity stream by forum. So if you don't like the stuff being posted in the modding WIP's, or the games forums, you can choose to ignore those subs. It's filtered by inclusion, not exclusion, so if you want to ignore one sub-forum, you have to enable all the rest of them, one by one.
Click Topics, and then select the subs you want to follow:
