This means the oft-stated Saturday Dec. 19 launch attempt, the first for the v1.2 version of the F9, and the return-to-flight mission for the rocket – will likely take place on a later date." http://www.spaceflightinsider.com/organizations/space-exploration-technologies/spacex-falcon-9-wont-launch-dec-19/ Argh. Spaceflight insider has no idea. in that article they state that they can do a two day turn around to launch. They just wanted to be the first to post the news. I have it from a Landing engineer at SpaceX that the launch should still be Saturday if the Static Fire goes well.

Mitchz95
Aside from Musk's "three days later" tweet, did SpaceX ever actually confirm the planned launch date for December 19th?

Mitchz95
Where? Their website still lists the upcoming mission as being set for "December 2015", no date listed.
sojourner
http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=38148.0 Hmmm, actually, looking back through that thread, SpaceX never actually posted a launch date. Still, everything points to the 19th from launch aapprovals and readiness of assets. Edited December 17, 2015 by sojourner

Wingman703
Saw via the SpaceX FB page that F9 went vertical today and "the teams ran through pad operations. Working towards static fire later today."
Mitchz95
Elon Musk just tweeted: Quote Falcon 9 is vertical on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral. Working towards static fire. Deep cryo liquid oxygen presenting some challenges. That was half an hour ago.
Delta_8930
Hm. Are they still going to try a static fire tonight? F9 v1.2 is the first rocket to have condensed LOX. No surprise why things pop up here and there.
Mitchz95
Has anybody heard anything? Their Twitter is uncomfortably silent.
Streetwind
The reigning assumption at the moment is that the pad infrastructure at the Cape really isn't liking deep chilled LOX, which is keeping them from properly fueling the rocket. But keep in mind the word "assumption".

Streetwind
...I would rather hope that SpaceX won't have to offer ten sacrifices in order to proceed with propellant loading of their rocket
Motokid600
Are they having trouble keeping the fuel cold?

KerBlammo
SpaceX's lack of transparency is very frustrating. If this was a NASA launch there would already have been a briefing and news conference explaining what is (or is not) happening. SpaceX please think of the Space Nerds! sojourner
Bad weather at the cape right now as a cold front moves through. Static fire may be off for today.
Mitchz95
Figures. I hope they still make December. Ah, well. At least I'll get to watch The Force Awakens without having to worry about missing the return to flight.
