Some random debris came within 1000 m on my previous orbit. And that\'s just the one I know of.

Ppl say it is statistically difficult (ie impossible) to hit random debris, but when you consider *EVERY* launch goes to a 125km equatorial orbit and leaves debris then the impossible becomes probable.

I did that just last week. In the space of 5 seconds, I lost the middle of my Munar lander and my parachute. (The back half of my rocket took it off.)

I was facing retrograde, so I didn\'t notice until it hit... I think it was an RCS tank with attached thrusters. My screenshot finger didn\'t get there in time.

Might it be that you purposefully littered the space around the planet with debris so it would eventually happen

Actually, on one of my designs, i had to apply RCS tanks to the lander due to size issues, which are then seperated themselves when i need to use the lander, it results in 4 RCS tanks floating freely in space.

Honestly, I have nearly lost a rocket per three launches, from the amount of debris in LKO (Low Kerbol Orbit)

I only just edited my persistent file to get rid of the debris, but I had a bad design for an unmanned Minmus probe, and each one left a total of 9 stacks in a circular orbit around Kerbin, which eventually made equatorial orbits somewhat dangerous.

I used to stay cluttered, but the autosave lag was getting annoying. As result, I clear the persistent file every once in a while or manually remove individual parts.

Yes, just delete it.

NNEEEOOOOOOOOO don\'t delete your persistance file! Just go into the settings and crank the debris to 0 and back up.

I have no persistance file and I never deleted it
