When re-entry flames will be introduced

Kerbal is the best flight simulator in which I've played so far, unfortunately, still missing some element that should be present in the simulation space, namely the re-entry heat effect.

I wonder when it will be introduced​​​​, I have a great desire to fry my Kerbals

Pawelk198604, as with any and all parts of KSP, it'll be done when it's done, and not a moment before, I know you are musing rather than asking, but these kinds of comments have a habit starting something bigger than their original intent, and can cause others to start asking for specific release dates.

I'm sorry I did not want to rush anyone, I know that the creation of KSP require very hard work and I am grateful for everything, because this game is really great.

I just wanted to torment the little kerbonauts by sending them on a path to extremely sharpt re-entry into the atmosphere, it was a joke :-)

Oh yeah, make it harder to get the little guys back on the ground safe. I blow up enough of them on the launch pad as it is.

I wonder if you can make a heat shield that's essentially, in code, a rocket with no thrust and uses no fuel. That would allow you to have the smoke trail effect and maybe make use of the engine glow.

This was done once, though I think the add-on no longer works, and it certainly is not kept up to date, it was a heat-shield my Moach I believe, modified by NovaSilisko long ago, though I may be wrong.

I believe one of the mods in the old vBulletin forums (Moach) made a heatshield part that did this. But that's gone now.

Still, proof of possibility.
