Delfino42
I Have loved kerbal space program for a while now and I've done many missions to the surface of other planets/moons. One thing that i have noticed with the atmospheric planets. When you land it still plays the music as if you were in space. I think it would be cool if in ksp 2 there would be different music sets for planets/moons with atmospheres or different music set when you go to other solar systems. This is purely an aesthetic thing but something that would really set forward the idea of landing on a far away foreign planet.
DStaal
If they really wanted to go all-in on it, they could even have different themes for different planets... I like KSP's music, but I'll admit it's not really up to a professional game studio's level.

You can do that with the Sound Track Editor mod (you can get a working copy for 1.8 here: https://github.com/linuxgurugamer/SoundtrackEditor/releases/tag/4.3.2)

Getting good music for it is really the hard part. Relevant video I watched recently:
mattinoz
Don't they? Maybe bad assumption on my part but given there is a guy in dev video as music producer saying he's crafting sound tracks to various parts of the game and talks about binary system I kind of thought I was odd if he was full time just reworking boppy SPH music. Satellitefanatic
The current soundtrack for KSP is Kevin Macleod music (which is copyright-free) Edited February 10, 2020 by Satellitefanatic

Satellitefanatic
This means that the implementation of MOAR MUSIC should not be that difficult.

Empiro
Having unique music for different situations and planets would definitely go a long way to making KSP 2 better. I already have the soundtrack editor for KSP1, but I definitely don't want to have to take the time to select each track for each planet / situation separately. It would also be nice for KSP 2 to have a composer creating unique music just for the game, rather than using free music.
Satellitefanatic
True, and as @linuxgurugamerhave shown, it is also very easy to mod custom music into the game. Edited February 11, 2020 by Satellitefanatic
