Mods for Potato

Here's the thing: I want mods, but I have a potato for a computer (2014 Macbook Pro with an i7) 

I already have EVE, Scatterer, and Stock Visual Effects, but there's already a big decrease in frame rate. Could anyone suggest some mods that would work with my potato? I'm looking for visual mods and maybe some light parts mods.

I used to play on a Macbook as well and yeah, the framerate was awful. Anyways, have you tried sci-fi visual enhancements? (It doesn't need scatterer, which is usually the one that causes the biggest drop in framerates of most visual mods)

drop the visual enhancements and you'll go far.

my super-grand-spud (2008 HP Dv7 notebook) runs 220++ mods just fine on an SSD with 8GB memory-and integrated graphics - but no visual mods (except KS3P)

try GEA Lite as visual mod (it include scatterer and some other fancy things) and remove clouds configs. 

Works like a charm on my macbook i5 mid 2014, and i'm enjoying great visuals too (with also 40 mods)

no clouds btw..

i'm playing 1.8.1
