Historical Kerbal Suits adds a selection of custom-made space suits utilising the stock suit switching system. Each suit is a complete retexture, with custom normal maps and a very high level of detail. 

Historical Suits also adds a selection of wearable props using the stock inventory system to allow you to further personalise your spacesuits, and replicate real-world designs. Wearable props can be enabled simply by placing the parts into your Kerbals' inventories. 

FEATURES

  • Custom suit textures based on six real-world suit designs: Apollo A7L, A7LB, Sokol (Soyuz), Strizh (Buran), ACES (in orange & blue variants), EMU (in four colour variants), and Orion Crew Survival Suit
  • Wearable Props integrated into the stock inventory system - the ACES Space Helmet (with working sun visor) and EMU Helmet Light (with working lights)
  • IVA suit replacement via a custom plugin, so you actually get to see the suits in IVA! This can also be applied to your own custom suits - simply use the IVA{} block in the suit combos to define your IVA textures. The EMU suit uses the ACES orange suit as an IVA texture. 

COMPATABILITY

Historical Kerbal Suits REQUIRES KSP version 1.10 or later, but wearable props will only function with 1.11+ as they require the revised inventory system. 

If also using Texture Replacer, you MUST turn off 'PERSONALISE SUITS' in the Texture Replacer settings in the Space Center menu, or personalised suits will not display correctly. 

Two of the included suits, the Apollo & Sokol suits, are also bundled with Bluedog Design Bureau and Tantares respectively. To avoid duplicated suits in the astronaut complex, you can remove the appropriate 'Suits' folder from any of the three mods.

Okay, this is amazing; accurate EMU and ACES suits are something I've wanted forever; from the person who makes the best shuttle mod no less; not to mention, having the correct suit in IVA!!

One suggestion; if you're in the home planet's atmosphere (Earth/Kerbin) when you EVA you should have the IVA suit instead of EVA suit because you'd probably be recovering/escaping from the craft if you're EVA'ing in the atmosphere (so like if I EVA'd w/ EMU equipped I'd actually come out wearing ACES) 

Not sure if it's possible but those are my two cents :lol:

Title: Kerbal parachute does not open with accessory helmets equipped. 

Reproduction Steps:

1) Create any craft (capsule + SRB) with the kerbal having EMU or ACES helmet accessories and a parachute in their inventory

2) Launch craft

3) EVA crew member during ascent and right click and deploy parachute

4) Observe no opening parachute

5) (Optional) right click the kerbal inventory while falling and click the accessory to temporarily remove it from the slot. Parachute now animates and deploys. Drop accessory back onto its slot and parachute still works.

Edit: KSP 11.2, no DLC installed.

What about a PLSS and MMU to replace the stock 'jetpack'? Also a patch to increase kerbals' inventory slots to three or four, so they can carry multiple things simultaneously (for example, PLSS+MMU, EVA lights, and two cargo items)

EDIT: Also, how easy would it be to patch the props for KIS compatibility?
