Odd sunflare issue

Recommended Posts

So I installed the "Sunflares of maar" mod and used the "phi" sunflare  and the sunflare is working normally but I still see the sun itself inside the flare

@Awesomesauce1337 Did you ever solve this problem with Sunflares Of Maar? I'm trying to use the Ursa Minor flare and have the same problem of the sunball looking like it's pasted in front of the flare.

@DeadJohn as you seem to have gotten this working, I presume you already know the syntax version thing you have to do in the config file. In that same file, change the first number in %flareSettings to 1 from 0.5

it will look like: %flareSettings = 1,1,0.8

Hope this helps!

The brightness increased to 1 or higher looks better but still way worse than the Ursa Minor sample screenshot. I've made further changes by merging some sun cfg settings from JNSQ with Ursa Minor's flare images and got something that's much improved.

Note that I don't need "SyntaxVersion = 1" with GPP and Sunflares of Maar. Both mods use the original Scatterer syntax so properly default to 1. Explicit syntax is only needed when mixing sun patches that use different syntaxes.

TO ALL WHO HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND TO THOSE WHO WILL IN THE FUTURE

I FOUND A FIX

Ensure that your "flareSettings" line in the scatterer config has 1 be the first number E.G: flareSettings = 0.7,1,0.5 -> flareSettings = 1,1,0.5

This fixed my problem and may fix yours.

I had the same issue, what I had to do was replace the default sunflare images located in "Scatterer\config\Sunflares\Sun" with the Ursa Minor ones. IE: Replace the default "sunflare.png" with the Ursa Minor "sunflare.png" and repeat for every image like the ghosts. Then ensure the flareSettings line has the proper numbers.

If this doesn't work, try using my sun.cfg file, create a new cfg file by creating a txt file, pasting in my settings and renaming the file extension to cfg, then replace the default sun.cfg with the new file.
