Open Source Planet Textures

Recommended Posts

So I was sitting at my computer one night when I thought about how hard making a planet in Kopernicus is. I remembered I had a planet texture maker (Textures for Planets) and I decided to share this with the modding community. All I ask is that if you use any of these textures, please credit me in the planet description. To start out, here is a nice dry planet. Thanks, and happy worldbuilding!

Ok, so this is just for fun (but so is the rest of this) but I'm going to post brief planet names and descriptions, so if you want a preset, you can have one, but if you want more originality, that option still exists. To start:

Fernos

A planet with no atmosphere but a massive ocean of lava. A few islands further North than the main Southern landmass have been discovered, but are incredibly hazardous to land on, and as such, should be avoided in favor of the Southern Polar Continent (made with Donjon)

Finding texture generators is really hard on the internet, although it is useful to have texture generators out there as well. I don't mean to self promo but I made a video with a planet texture I thought was cool.

I created it using a Blender planet generator from Gumroad. I'll find it later if I can since I have a (way too long) list of planet texture generators in my Google Docs files. Here's the Docs file: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1jstGqrESD3ir-TowbgMbNYni89-A_B4oIycCLezJilA/edit?usp=sharing

Oh wait I found it. Here it is: https://verdestudios.gumroad.com/l/sRaZL
