Tableflip
So after deciding to try science mode for the first time, (somewhat cheatless) I've been launching probes into orbits with just a few 1000 meters in difference between apoapsis and periapsis. Whenever i time warp, my periapsis shoots downwards and next thing i know i'm entering the atmosphere! I'm not sure how to achieve a stable orbit in terms of what thing to drag on maneuver nodes, and its starting to annoy me!! Any help would be amazing, as most tutorials I've watched dont address these finer adjustments. Thanks! (Ps, sorry if my formatting is off this is my first post here) Edited January 30, 2023 by Tableflip spelling + extra info
Vanamonde
If any part of your orbit is below 70kms in altitude, you will be brushing the atmosphere and slowed down. Is that possibly what's happening? Also, welcome to the forum.
Tableflip
Thank you for the quick response!! My orbits are typically above 100 kms, and i have now just noticed when i time warp my periapsis goes down quite dramatically... Any ideas? Nazalassa
Welcome to the forums @Tableflip! I think some screenshots might help solve the problem (in case you don't know how to do it, upload them on Imgur or cubeupload or any image-hosting service, then copy the link of the image to your post). Vanamonde
Is this happening a lot? Sometimes the game's math gets confused and the trajectory changes while warping, which it should not do, but I've only seen it on very rare occasions. Tableflip
Believe it or not, it happens every time I time warp. Here is my orbit before hitting timewarp: https://imgur.com/a/ruu2ybJ And here it is after: https://imgur.com/a/cwRtvyk Idk maybe im just their millionth customer or something
Vanamonde
Does it still happen if you remove your mods?
Tableflip
I'll look into it, thanks for the tip! But for the meantime, I think we've found the source of the issue... thanks for the help!
