Resonant
Greetings, fellow Kerbalnauts! We are thrilled to announce the development of an ambitious and groundbreaking mod for KSP2: "Kerbal Space Program: Odyssey"! Our mission is to provide you with the most realistic, immersive, and enjoyable experience in your interstellar adventures, whilst redefining the boundaries of modding in KSP2. Kerbal Space Program: Odyssey is currently in VERY early development, we do not want to do too much until the API is released as we want the most streamlined development of this mod as possible, this is already happening with a dedicated team of modders working in their free time on what they can for now to bring this epic vision to life. Stay tuned for more updates, sneak peeks, and development milestones as we progress towards the launch of the ultimate KSP2 modding experience. (GitHub Link To Follow) Regarding similarities with other mods: Spoiler We would like to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible work of all modders, but especially the "Realism Overhaul" team. Their dedication and innovation have inspired us and paved the way for our own mod, "Kerbal Space Program: Odyssey." We are grateful for their contributions to the KSP modding community and the fantastic gameplay experience they have provided. While our mod shares some similarities with "Realism Overhaul," we have focused on pushing the boundaries even further and offering an alternative experience for players seeking an immersive and engaging journey in KSP2. "Kerbal Space Program: Odyssey" introduces new game mechanics, content, and customization options that set it apart and cater to different player preferences. We view "Kerbal Space Program: Odyssey" as a complementary addition to the modding landscape, enriching the choices available to players and fostering a diverse ecosystem. Our team is open to collaboration, idea-sharing, and learning from the success and challenges faced by the "Realism Overhaul" developers and the broader KSP modding community. We are committed to continuously improving and expanding our mod, incorporating player feedback, and drawing inspiration from other remarkable mods like "Realism Overhaul." Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for KSP2 players while showing our respect and appreciation for the work of fellow modders. Thank you for your support, and we hope you enjoy the unique gameplay experience that "Kerbal Space Program: Odyssey" has to offer in the future! I'll try to answer any questions :)
FL-T400
The general opinion of the RO team is that starting on something this big this early into KSP 2's development will likely be a fool's errand. Best of luck and I'm certainly hoping you will be successful, but waiting for a stable modding API and starting with porting some of the more foundational mods like MM, FAR, or RSS might give you a better chance of success. RO was created by a large team over 10 years, so make sure you aren't biting off more than you can chew. Many thanks and best of luck to the RO-Team aswell, we largly agree that starting this early is risky and we will most likely face many many issues along the way, however for now we're really just trying to get a lay of the land so to speak and coming up with a solid plan for what we plan for this mod to be. We're more focused now on exploring the games code and seeing whats possible. Nothing is concrete currently and we know that a large majority of pretty much anything we build now will be useless, but we're learning and waiting to get our hands on the API, then hope to ramp up development far more than it is currently.
