The KSS Constellation aligned for its preliminary Trans-Jool Injection burn. Carrying four craft and a crew of eight, the Constellation is (my) KSC's first interplanetary crewed mission; its focus is exclusively on Laythe. Two of the craft are Arro Skydart 2A aerospace planes intended to do mapping and atmospheric analysis. The other two are Arro Bullet aerospace SSTO landers intended for geological analysis of two sites (with possibly two more depending upon fuel reserves and time constraints).

That's going to be an... interesting injection burn.

Make sure you quicksave (f5) before you being, because I suspect at least a couple of things might happen.

1. You forget to disable the other engines that aren't assisting with the maneuver and create drastic movements that break something, or

2. The whole thing flexes like a possessed rubber band, possibly breaking components (or whole ships!) off.

Whatever you do, don't forget to post pics from the flight, because that looks ambitious as all get-out! ^_^

First version of the Duna Crew Lander or DCL. It's only payload will be the Duna Exploration Rover or DER

Since only three will land, the rover can carry the entire crew and a couple of experiments. I want to stuff it with stuff, just like Kateteochi's one. Wish I could give him more Rep. :)

Ohhh yeah.

I disable all the landers' engines when docking to avoid unintended rammings, so I'm safe from the first one. As for the second, well, the planes don't flex much at all but the VTOLs got back almost 45° before I chickened out and eased the throttle down. I'll definitely be handling that one like eggs.

I'd intended to make the landers spaceplanes too, to avoid all that torque on the docking adaptors, but I couldn't get a two-seater hardy enough designed in time so it was go with brute force now or miss the launch window.

Whatever you do, don't forget to post pics from the flight, because that looks ambitious as all get-out! ^_^

Will do; I may even blog it. The Constellation is just the flagship; the whole fleet contains two stand-alone probes (a Jool orbiter and a Jool atmospheric glider), a heavy probe bus with 20 landers (16 static, 4 rovers), and three tankers that'll aerobrake in with fuel for operations and (for the Connie) the trip home.

Throw enough probes at it, and something's bound to work, right? :)

DAVE is slowly making progress. It doesn't topple over as before, an looks a little better IMO.

I'm also developing a set of boosters specifically for this mission.

The Algore XX (20t to LKO).

And the Algore XXX (30t to LKO).

I might use the XXX as a launch to Duna vehicle, removing the need of transfer stages, because the landers only weight about 15t.

As the report says, he was suddently struck by a flying train of awesomeness.

Is that rover from Bobcat's american pack?

LOL! Yes, it is. I was going through deployment procedures and decided to take the LRV for a spin. Bill tried to jump the ramp at the end of the crawlerway near the VAB and ended up underneath the rear wheel. Kerbal driving at its best!

Very pritty

Thanks :)

Also has anyone got any idea how my 4 engines are still running with 0.02 intake air!??!?

Believe me this has never happened before with these engines; they normally cut out around 0.4

Probably the weirdest Areal Maneuver.... the "Number Two." Go straight upside-down, lift engines thrusting straight down, then flick down, flip over, and go the opposite direction.
