International construction ISS in Kerbal orbit.

Well it can't walk across the entire station, the only segment on ROS that has a mount is Rassvet because it was installed from a shuttle. But I don't think it could support the entire arm with a payload..

They added a Power & Data Grapple Fixture on STS-134 on EVA 3 to the forward end of the FGB. Here's a cool pre-flight video about EVA 3:

I do not know why this is happening, or whether others also experience the same problem, but i cant seem to dock with any docking ports on the ISS, i've tried all kinds of docking ports and none worked (I've put the ISS in orbit with hyperedit, maybe that's the cause of the problem?)

Ehich version of the pma are you using? Devo's pma has a glitch that causes ALL docking ports on the ship to not work. Bobcat made a new pma that does not have such problem.

It can "walk", actually, but due to a bug, you need patience of a saint and a stroke of luck for it. Turns out it works well with a probe core attached at the end, but you need to switch to tracking station after each docking. In general, avoid doing that unless you must (like during assembling the Truss).

Really what I was referring to was that the actual arm has a "Latching End Effector" on each end, while the BobCat/Romfarer version has an LEE on one end and a permanent mounting point on the other. Like I mentioned before, Romfarer and BobCat were originally going to include the track/cart system that allows the canadarm2 to move loads along the length of the trusses with relative ease. I can only assume that when Romfarer was picked up by Squad, he had to make the choice to cut his work on the Robotic Arms Pack short.

As a follow-up to what I said before... it would actually have been more complicated to make the Canadarm2 "walkable" than I might have implied. For it to work one way, it would have to be independently controllable (a probe core, basically) and made up of at least two parts, with a docking point at each end. Then a corresponding docking point would be have to placed at every spot where a grapple fixture should be (you can see them on some of the modules included in the pack already, but they are only for aesthetics.) The other way would be to allow the arm to make multiple "magnetic" connections (one at each end). I have never so much as glanced at the code for arms, so I can't say how feasible this would be.

errr.. I don't think that was the case. My original PMA in the pack did not have a unity docking object in it, this would not cause any issues with any of the other parts other than the PMA itself.

When I did add the docking port and had an entirely different issue, none of you got that to use at all - so any bugs created by that one were soley isolated to my own use.

@Yogui nice, looks similar to the model on the nasa site I was working off too.

Devo, I don't know what was original, or what you expected that was released, but yes. in the first release of ISS - any ship "at all" (be it a ISS or just two stock rovers).. if one had a PMA-1 on it, then no docking was possible, at all.

it wouldn't matter if you were trying to dock TO the PMA-1, from the PMA-1, or if the PMA-1 part wasn't involved in the docking at all. If it was on either ship.. then docking was impossible.

Neither manually, nor by MJ, Orda, nothing.

This is why there was such an issue. the ISS was complete dead in space. simply putting 'working docking ports' on the ends of PMA-1 would not help.

typed PMA-a instead of PMA-1

Is anybody interested in texturing the Rassvet/MIR DC? I made a simple model for the MIR Docking Compartment:

I'm in progress of making the experiment airlock and radiator for it, so it could be converted to Rassvet by radially attaching two parts.

The only problem is, I lack the skills to texture it (I can UV it, though) and rig it in Unity. If somebody could do it, PM me, I'd appreciate it.

That cupola is awesome yogui, but don't forget to make it insanely small. It's much smaller than the stock cupola. I think it's actually the same size as the CBM docking port.

As I recall from STS-130, the Cupola has a built in CBM. Of course in ksp that would be a separate part.

Well, I'd do this, I'd use buran with cupola mated on top of Node 2/3's CBM, then when docked to station I'd use shuttles canadarm to fix the cupola to the correct node port, then I'd use stations candarm to mate it to the right spot on the station.

...all the while praying to whatever saint has dominion over space that either craft doesnt start shaking wildly like a rodeo bull. I wish you good luck!
