Zatie12
Is there a particular reason why there is no oxidiser in the MK2/Mk3 Fuselage (only Liquid Fuel)? I suppose I'd have to build conventional tanks into the fuselage of a spaceplane if I wanted to install rocket motors too? Or Perhaps I'm missing something! Brax
I think that they are ment for aircraft that use air intakes to provide the oxidizer.
rosenkranz
Because those sections are primarily meant for jets which don't use oxidizer.
Deadpangod3
I hate it, those fuselages are what made my space shuttle look realistic, but I had to add other fuel tanks to make the engines work, and now it won't get off the ground
Tex_NL
You guys might want to look into http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/mk3-fuselage-expansion-pack/ Among others it offers Mk3 fuselage with fuel AND oxidizer.(http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/mk3-crew-cabin-fuselage-c7-style-for-0-18-2/ is a good supplement to the previous mod mentioned.) M5000
If you're building a spaceplane, a single one of those fuselages should contain plenty of jet fuel to get you to orbit, the vast majority of your fuel should be rocket fuel, as the rockets chew through fuel so quickly it's unreal. (No, really, it's unreal, real-life engines are something like 40% more efficient, likely more.)
Mastodon
what M5000 said. below I have posted my SSTO, a small and basic design. of its 7 fuel tanks, only two of them are jet fuel only. the other 5 are the fuel and oxidizer rocket tanks. and those two tanks not only get me most of the way to orbit before I need to rely on the aerospike only, but they usually have enough fuel left over to fly back to KSC if I have over-or-undershot it by a few kilometers.
