Targets in orbit

Recommended Posts

After quite a few launches ive accumulated some debris in orbit, and now im having trouble selecting my station. when ever i try to click it, it thinks I want to target debris. is there a way to get rid of this debris? or have it not show up on the orbit map?

It also helps to not leave debris in orbit. You can minimize it with a little planning ahead...

- Jettison boosters before your Pe rises above 20km, so they fall back and "burn up."

- Ensure any part of your launch vehicle that does reach orbit has a probe pod, a power source, and enough propellent to deorbit when you're done with it.

- Drop transfer stages on impact trajectories with your destination.

Or set your debris slider to "0". It all depends on how you want to play the game.

Debris slider? what is this and what does it do?

You go to settings from the main menue. It determins the maximum amount of debris that is kept in your save file. Once you set it to 0 and load your save, all debris will be deleted.

My favourite physical method is to place retrograde sepatrons on any launch stages likely to get into orbit. Set them up to fire when you remove that part and they should drag it back into a sub-orbital trajectory. It also looks very cool.

Sounds very cool. Im totally going to try that on my Mk2 Shuttle pod

I'm another one who will say "GET HAYSTACK". It helps selecting craft when there is more than one in the same orbit, let alone let you select the right TYPE of craft. Haystack is one of the MUST HAVE mods out there.
