User Unrelated
Started my space station...and then realized that the "universal storage" oxygen and water tanks don't have room for CO2 or waste water...so I either need to send up a new module, or edit the config... either one is going to have to happen faster than 3 in-game days, or I get to learn what happens when the waste builds up...I got this thing to orbit with a maximum thrust to weight ratio of only 1.3 (at the beginning of a new stage)the claaaaawwwwwwwI love infernal robotics... TrooperCooper
Congrats on getting that frame killer to not blow up the system . Just in case you didn't know Steam has the full version on sale right now for $16.19, the offer ends in 21 hours or so from now.Thank you! I got the full game just in time with the discount. I started with the career mode. Didnt want to take the shortcut through sandbox mode yet to keep the fun of getting new stuff as rewards for achievements. After some basic fidelling with all the stuff, I started to design me a new workhorse lifter. Based loosely on what I did in the Demo, it of course turned into a booster monster as well. The first tests with the extra large fuel tanks were not very encouraging...So I went back to the normal sized tanks, but they didnt want to behave either...Well... at least we are sending SOMETHING into space. After a few more tetsts and improvements, I finally figured out how to turn her into a stable launchcraft. And there she is, in all her beauty: the RX-2b ColossusTake off...Last booster pack jettisoned off. Did I mention that I fell in love with Sepratrons? With the help of the last start-stage, its going into orbit...And the actual spacecraft that can be used to travell arround Kerbin. Here Jebediah is doing his first trip arround the Mun to run some experiments and get us some much needed science progress. He seems to be enjoying the show. Return-craft entering the atmoshphere. The bomba is coming home. Later on the ship was also used for an unmanned mission to Minmus. Tw1
Today, I was reading about the Sun, and realised I had not properly been there in KSP. It was time to put this right. Here are our heros, Jorbles and Doly, standing on their rocket as part of the interplanetary launch ceremony. Bill was here also, though he's only going as far as LKO. He needed a lift.(He's just inspecting here.)The flight went well, dispite some fuel line errors.I made it into orbit with a lot of spare fuel in the last lifter stage. Bill is the orange dot below the flame.Burning.BurningAnd we're on our way to the Sun!Who knows when they'll return!I like this space vessel. It's a neat little(ish) thing. Concentric
Tracked a class A asteroid: it started just about in orbit. Then I attempted to grab it with a claw, but I was evidently moving too fast and instead slammed it out of Kerbin's SOI with the impact. Good thing that was unmanned. Also a few microlift experiments with an Octo-2 and various powering methods. Actually, the LV-1 with a ROUND-8 is pretty good at lifting a lone probe core. problemecium
I basically played KSP until I dropped last night, so I didn't get a chance to post the pictures. I got a lot done though, mostly more orbital construction for Kerbatar 2.Also, I finally got EVE working and sent Mating (yes that's what the game generated for a name xP) out to investigate the mysterious "clouds" that suddenly appeared over KSC.Thank you! I got the full game just in time with the discount. And there she is, in all her beauty: the RX-2b Colossushttp://picload.org/image/llwrrrp/new4.jpgBTW if you're relatively new to KSP my advice is to save "Colossus" and names with similar connotations till later. I used to think I was building huge stuff, then I joined the forum and, well... there's always a bigger fish. Usually it's that guy Whackjob. ClearlySane88
I performed my first ever rendezvous and docking procedure! I literally could not be more happy with myself right now, even if it did take me a few months to do it (not to mention landing on the Mun and Minmus multiple times beforehand). I've also got a probe in route to Jool, as my other two probes to Moho and Duna ran into problems on the way there (the Moho Probe ran out of gas on the way there and I forgot to extend the Duna Probe's solar panels before sending it off and it ran out of power before I noticed so I couldn't do anything with it). Karrajor
I have send a crew and a improvised refueling rocket to my Emperor class anti-asteroid ship and made a first trial run to Mun and back. Found 6 minor design flaws and I also wasnt much impressed about the fuel consumption. While I am renewing the design, I dont know if I will be launching another 2 ships as planned. I will see how it will perform in 75days when an asteroid will be passing Kerbin about 900km away and then I will decide the future of this enormously expensive project. Besides that, after a succesfull testing of my Let 6 Sprinter high performance aircraft I started the development of Let 7 Ã…Â ipka (translated into English its "Dart") which was to have many firsts (my first SSTO in career, first SSTO completely my design with no inspiration from the internet, first SSTO using one intake per engine concept). First flight with Lars Kerman aboard topped at 1242km/s at 32,5km. Also the first prototype was lossed due to a piloting error. Lars wanted to return to the KSC but overestimated the capabilities of the craft resulting in a spin. Fortunetally the recovery system worked fine and Lars is currently flying on the older Let 6 Sprinter to practice his skill. After this flight I made some improvements ( redesigned front wing section, added two reaction wheels and 4 small solar panels) and had Jebbediah try out the new craft. I didnt expected better performance, but having Jebbediah in the cockpit seems to be improving the craft in every way. Jebbediah utilised his piloting skills and got into a 80km orbit, in one flight he made all "my firsts" true. From now on, Jeb will be the first pilot on every aircraft I will build Also I will have to work on the landing gear, since both turbojets were lost at touchdown... Edited May 11, 2014 by Karrajor
