dangerhamster
With everybody on the roster trained to 3 star level, the base design undergoing extended testing and the engineers poring over old pictures of the Deliverance cargo hauler actual missions have tapered off somewhat. So it seemed like a good time for Jeb to grab a newly minted scientist to reset the experiments and do a grand tour collecting all the odd science from Kerbin. Not that it was needed but as I was supposed to be painting the living room walls........ Trips up and down followed by sideways snagged a bunch of those pesky splashed at and flying over scenarios. Not content with this Jeb used the metal in his head to triangulate the locations of the elusive DNS network, as no-one at KSC seemed to know where they were. With some nifty lucky flying signal readings were taken airborne and landed at most of the stations. The crew are currently having some mandated downtime en route to seek out the old KSC and pyramids. Bornholio
I sent 5 SAR scansats to do the job of 2... poorly First launch, rolled out, pre-flight checked failed, control surfaces on SRB not on, SRB set to way too much thrust. Flaunch 2, intended to go to the moon, Main stage ignition failure, barely limped into a kinda polar earth orbit. Third launch, again SRB is heading out, second stage heading good into Polar orbit 7500km, notice that target zero angle altitude is 150km... after circularizing in atmosphere and squeezing out a 2300x145km Oribt, yeah mapping sucks. Fourth, second try for the moon went good, Nice 88deg Polar orbit at correct altitude. Fifth, finally everything right on my ICBM SARSAT. Reinstalled RO/RP-0 Dev with updates, getting weird shadow on some fairings
Mjp1050
For some reason, I decided it would be a good idea to land on the dark side of Minmus with absolutely no lights on my lander at all. It worked, somehow.
The Flying Kerbal
I haven't been playing much recently, but a few days ago I did get stuck in again, and there's a huge - absolutely MASSIVE - shock in store for all of you when you see what I managed to do!! First though a nice gentle polar scene with Jeb on the ice while Mun and Minmus light up the night sky: Jeb at the South Pole. Yesterday Jeb was in orbit around Kerbin when an old satellite suddenly jumped out from behind the planet without any warning! Poor old Jeb stood on the brakes but it was too late and he hit the thing, demolishing a solar panel and knocking it onto a sub orbital trajectory. It has since crashed and burned: Jeb Meeting With An Old Satellite. Never one to miss a photo opportunity, Jeb was out the hatch and posing faster than you could say "Warp speed Mr. Zulu": One For Jeb's Photo Album By now you may have figured out what's coming next! Yes, the champagne corks went sub orbital this evening after I managed this for the first time Who's Feeling Pretty Smug With Himself Right Now? And here's a couple more: http://imgur.com/5TecJ7k http://imgur.com/M1SqdZC The mission specified the Kerbanauts would have to swap seats before heading back home. Naturally Jeb realised the photo opportunity which carrying out this order presented, and Val didn't need a huge amount of convincing either. The 100 Km High Club! The release of these images is expected to add more fuel to the conspiracy theorists who insist the KSP is all fake and demand to know who takes these photos. So far the KSA has refused to be drawn into a confrontation with this Kerbals, some of whom go so far as to claim their whole existence is just a computer simulation... cratercracker
Hi guys! Didn't launch a lot. Though had some great results. 1. Launch of "Federation" Munar visiter. This is the best craft for Mun i ever built! (i am based on 'federation'' russian craft) (I SUPPORT LAUNCH ESCAPE SYSTEM) 2. Landing and first visit of a comet! I think it was wonderful experience of making a randezvous. 3.Return of "Violator" crew from Mun. I am going to to do on Friday!
steedcrugeon
After several failed launch attempts (for some reasons 2 out of 3 launch clamps disengaged after physics load) I managed to get the Dockyards module for my HKO station out of the atmosphere and the third stage is currently on track for rendezvous with the rest of the station. Station presently unscrewed after the last engineering visit completed their tasking and returned to Kerbin.

michal.don
Before starting building permanent infrastructure on the Moon, our space program directors had to prove that precision landings are possible with our pilot's level of skill. So the next mission of the Grissom program, Grissom XIV had the main goal of landing near a probe that landed on the Moon several years earlier - the Armstrong Sat I. Melbin Kerman did a great job, even better than Pete Conrad, and managed to land the LEM just a few dozen metres from the probe. Before the first ride of the prototype of a new rover, Eriissa Kerman carefuly examines the probe. No science was gained in this mission, as Grissom IX already performed several experiments at the Lunar seas, but the crew succesfully prove that we can land at a given location with reasonable accuracy, so our engineers will start to design a surface base soon. Well, I usually have trouble thnking of good and original names for my spacecraft, sou this playthrough I decided to name them after astronauts or scientists that achieved something related to the mission. So my mercury analog was program Sheppard, gemini analog was Lovell, and apollo is Grissom Michal.don
Red Shirt
Oh look, albums work. Not sure how to enlarge pictures here but it works. This is a proof of concept test launch. I want to build a station - or possibly interplanetary vessel with rings. First I had to see if I could get a pre-assembled ring in orbit. First attempts to launch it as a saucer failed, Turned it up on edge and after a few tries... success. Best of all no Kerbals were harmed in the making of this launch. Yes I used MechJeb - sue me. No really, don't. I'm just a poor boy, from a poor family.

Bornholio
I failed to get to a manned moon landing. No launch clamps needed, it really wasn't because I forgot them, I just didn't need them, really, um.... something weird going on with the nose of my fairing, all black was not the intended color. Getting to Orbit went great. use a Gimongous F-1 cause it had two ignitions. it was that of 24 breeze motors. Yes those are full on SRB's (candlewax) motors for ullage. Got to the moon and did all my manned and sample return science I could reach with a 27deg inclination. Separated from the Rhea I (3 man return pod), while I still had my transit module with 1400dV left. The Hades I de-orbited and dropped the transit module. Tried to light the lander stage....no pressure. Tried a few more things wasting precious seconds. Dumped it and went for orbit. Limped back to the return pod. For some reason I found my RCS not working (my fault, fuel for it left with the lander) so I transferred with EVA. Return with a large amount of picture of the surface for future successful missions to do planning with. Madagascar deserts are tropical.... james.bates
I finally managed to land Kerbals on every celestial body with a solid surface, and bring them home again. Today I cracked the final challenge: Eve! I played in science mode, so the first few missions have only a single Kerbal (Jeb, who else), but as soon as I have the science, I like to send the iconic trio (Jeb, Bill and Bob). Here's the photo gallery: Harvesting launchpad science, to be able to launch into orbit 1 - Kerbin orbit 2 - Minmus 3 - Mun 4 - Duna 5 - Gilly 6 - Ike 7 - Dres 8 - Vall 9 - Tylo 10 - Poll 11 - Moho 12 - Eeloo 13 - Laythe 14 - Bop 15 - Eve Installed visual mods: - Stock Visual Enhancements - Stock Visual Terrain - Texture Replacer - Distant Objects - Reentry Particles By Dres, I had already unlocked the entire tech tree, but I wanted to keep going and land everywhere possible. I have 46 000 extra science now ... Edited March 25, 2017 by james.bates spelling mistake
cantab
@james.bates congratulations! You've done something a great many people playing KSP have not! And while Eve may be the crowning achievement, your Tylo/Moho lander is my kind of ship :-D Always love the Rhino engine.

Randox
I finally completed a little side project to build a crew retrieval and rescue aircraft for manned missions that land too far away from the space center for a ground pickup. The Suguha: Suguha Remote Retrival Fully fueled, the plane should be able to retrieve crew from any ground landing on the planet (her estimated maximum range is in excess of 4,000 km, sufficient to circumnavigate Kerbin if you have 8+ hours to burn). For crew that land in rough terrain where the Suguha cannot land, it can air drop an automated ground transport that seats 5. The ground transport draws power from both solar and thermal generators for all weather and time of day running, and is reasonably robust. The transport can re-dock inside the cargo bay, and even be re-deployed/re-dropped in the field for multiple retrievals (the Suguha seats 4 crew + 16 passengers). Bill couldn't pass up a chance to participate in the air drop Back in the cargo bay, safe and sound Edit: Tomorrow if I have the time, I want to polish up a couple things, and I'll see if I can't make a video of her in action and share the craft. The plane is an easy flyer, and it's fun to use. Edited March 25, 2017 by Randox
