Many of you might know and many of you might not know about this planetary body at the brim of our Solar System but I would love to see it added to a future version of KSP

Brief explanation of Sedna: it was discovered on November 14th, 2003 "as you see below." and has a VERY elliptical orbit "Link below shows its relative orbit path" and being largely a mixture of water, methane and nitrogen ices with tholins. it is classified as a Dwarf Planet, slightly smaller then our moon, and has an orbit period of around 11,500 years.

Sedna is a lot smaller than our moon...

Anyway, I have suggested before that a planet like Sedna, like with that bizzare orbit, be added to the game, but I think you should know better than to suggest the actual planet itself, this isn't our Solar system.

Didn't I state that. also Duna and Jool are based off of Mars and Jupiter all ideas have to start some were, so its reasonable to say that the first source of ideas should come from our own system. Im not saying "THIS IS THE PLANET I WANT AND THATS FINAL." im just making suggestions. and im not very active on the forums as you can see,and I wasn't to sure if someone had made a suggestion like this or not so I thought I would. (=

Landing on a Sedna Analogue would require only a small amount of extra delta-v compared with Eeloo, assuming they are of similar size. It would just take longer. I just hope they compensate with lots of easter eggs/cool stuff...

Could be, but its orbit means limited time frame and missions that you have only one chance per save and it will depend how close it is to its Periapsis once you've started a new save. In short, you will only have a single window for an encounter per game*.

You don't want to waste that by just sending a simple unmanned probe/lander assembly, right? So you then start building your massive interplanetary ship for this one-off encounter. But if you miscalculated and saw that the body was still a couple of thousand years away, are you willing to timewarp (given that it would still take a couple of hours at maximum warp**) until a transfer window arrives?

If you don't care about not launching a space vehicle or a new mission for a few in-game millenia, METs of your active missions getting stamped with T+9999 (even your "Sedna" ship will get it if it's already built) and leaving a kerbal inside a ship in orbit for more than a thousand years*** (TL;DR: throwing your space program out of whack) then that would be fine for you to warp-it-up.

*unless the warpmatics option is used.

**current (0.20) timewarp scaling.

***assuming that life support isn't implemented yet in-game, and the kerbals still rely on "photosynthesis" by the time a planetoid with "that" orbit gets introduced.

I don't think it would be necessary to have it really as stretched as Sedna's orbit. But something with a similarly shaped one, just a lot smaller, could be interesting. A person would still have to wait, say, 100 years for the next orbit to come around.

For a body that far out, the synodic period would actually be very close to Kerbin's year. The long part would be the actual transfer, not waiting for a window. Assuming you don't mind going for it at apoapsis.

Not with only x100 000 timewarp...But if they figure out how to fix the inaccuracies and floating point numbers and add further time acceleration, then I'd love to see something like this in the game.
