[Solved]engine help

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been playing with KSP for some time now and want to make my own part. I have been making the parts in blender and have made objects that I have imported into KSP. I want to make a ionEngine. I have made the object, applied the script and imported in to KSP but it has no thrust. The engine uses power and fuel but I am not getting lift. I have looked around on this topic a bit and lots of people are putting their objects in unity. Am I sup post to do this as well and if so would some one be able to tell me what to do.

Cheers, O.C.R

Have you not been importing any objects into Unity before this? If so, thats pretty cool, I didn't know you could skip that and still get them into KSP.

I have no experience with engines (yet) so I won't comment on your specific issue but this has been my go-to post for information, and it looks like it has a few things on engines.

Also, this is what I used to get objects into Unity if you've not been doing that.

You *can* skip Unity via .dae files, but most things don't work very well that way, especially engines. Check out some of the Unity tutorials, it is very easy to use, and free. What you are missing is a "thrustTransform" to tell the game where, and in which direction, it should apply the thrust of the engine.
