With the current tech tree I usually get a Soyuz looking thing by R-4, R-5 is a Ares I SRB launcher and R-6 is a 2.5m/Skipper design.

Putting the rocket class as a prefix before the craft name allows me to glance through the craft list in the tracking station and instantly note the projected velocity (deltaV) and tech level of the craft.

My first rocket, and pretty much every subsequent rocket and plane have been called whatever the the default name is "Untitled Spacecraft" i guess.

For some reason I just start a new sandbox everytime I load up. Usually because I forgot what I was doing.

"Boilerplate 1", though that wasn't a real rocket, just a capsule on the launchpad to grab some quick EVA science points. My first flying rocket was "Suborbital 1".

Is it normal to remember our first rocket? I have no clue what my first rocket was named.

The earliest things my mind bothered to remember were my earliest experiments with large docked space statiions...

Which were named Supernova Seven, Neutron Star and Red Giant. They were successfully docked together and eventually sapped for fuel by S-7 Type II. These ships are the reason I became good at docking around this time. Supernova Seven is heavily modular, if you look closely. The engine clusters, grapplers, and solar columns are all docked. This was before SLS or the joint reinforcement.

I actually have a pic of Red Giant and Supernova Seven right after separating. Version 0.23 I believe.

I really wish I had made a better habit of photos though. My first big memorable ship was actually Ion Star, Which was essentially a failure, followed by Fusion Star and Neutron Star. They were slapped together and essentially unuseable since it was akin to flying a wet noodle. It looked incredible though.

Then as far as SSTO's go, after very few successes with normal plane like SSTO's I decided I wanted my SSTO to also be a capable vertical lander, as well as fully modular.
