How KSP can destroy your home.

So there I was, playing KSP, trying to record a mun landing and return to kerbin with a space plane. Now, my housemates cook all kinds of things that smell funny to me, so i never pay it much mind. I\'m halfway back to kerbin when I smell burning paper. At that moment FRAPs crapped out on me and i decided to take a look out in the living room/ kitchen to see what was going on.

I was greeted by grey smoke thicker then a rocket ploom. I rushed over to the stove and discovered that no fire had yet broken out. A pot had boiled off and it\'s contents started burning on the bottom of the pot and smoking. There were red hot embers when I arrived. Grabbed another pot, took the overheated pot outside, and put it somewhere safe to cool. Then i went around opening windows and turning on fans and vents.

So much for sleep tonight.

Asleep.

They were shamed enough without me saying anything the moment they entered the living room.

We\'ll have to air the living room out a few more times and use some more ozium, but nothing was damaged.

Wow, yeah. Burning food can kill.

I remember one time when I was 11, and playing in my room. I smelled something familiar, but couldn\'t place it. After about 10 minutes of thinking about the smell, I go outside my room to see that the entire first floor was filled with smoke. I yelled 'Mom?', and she ran out her room, looked at the smoke, and cursed. She was melting sugar to make some nectar for hummingbirds, but had burned it. That was when I realized what the smell was like: roasted marshmallows.

Good thing fraps stopped working, then.

'Wow, I didn\'t realize KSP was that immersive! I can smell the rocket exhaust!'

It was like standing in the path of a flame trench just far enough back that it doesn\'t set you on fire.
