Is this how you're supposed to attach the LEM? I'm confused.

Um...no:)

Best way is to build the LEM separately, starting with the ascent module, save it as a sub-assembly. There will be one node available and you can attach it to the node for the LEM decoupler.

There is a small connect node in the middle of the Ascent Module that corresponds with the node on the SLA. I'd seen a node placed right below the engine of the SM, but when the docking port was attached to that node...selecting it as a target is impossible when you go to dock with it. I suppose I could have a node to decouple the engine, but then that node gets really close to nodes used to attach the SLA/decoupler/Instrument Unit...Since all the parts of the LEM are hidden to FAR with the fairing, nodes can be placed darn near anywhere to connect items, I haven't had any stability issues either, visual or otherwise.

Okay, I think I got it this time. :) I had to use part clipping to get it to attach.

Also, the fuel tanks hold no fuel and I can't fuel them up either in the Action Groups (for the Saturn parts). Is this an issue with Real Fuels, your configs (something possibly being left out?), or Realism Overhaul? Or could it be Module Manager? I tried using both 2.1.5 and 2.0.7 versions of Module Manager.

Do I still have to download your Fasa patch or is it all included in Realism overhaul?

Hey sorry to catch this 4 days afterwards...you posted right before the forum went down and I didn't get a message you had written. No you don't HAVE to download my patch, but RO contains essentially an outdated version that if you wish to use the newest v4.7 of FASA, you need this download. Some files have been removed, so it wouldn't hurt to delete everything in the RedAV8R folder of RO and download all of the files on the OP and go from there.

Heyo Red,

I have been using the KerbX Dragon Cargo pod for unmanned resupply missions, but I cannot for the life of me get that pod to reenter safely. The pod itself and the ablative shielding hold up fine, it's the radial parachutes and/or the docking port attached to the top that always evaporate on reentry. I've tried more placement configurations than I can count at this point and am just wondering if I am the only one that seems to be having this problem with that particular part.

Could you update the FASA realism pack? There were some quite important updates released recently. Centaur, in particular, opens up a lot of options. :)

YEP, working on it as we speak actually! Darn that Frizz, releasing 2 updates in about 36 hours:)

IT'S UP! FASA Update, OLDD update, and a bonus new pack, Lovad's World Space. Centaur, RL10, Nova parts, and HIIA/B! All available in the OP.

Big change, KM_Gimbal now supported and enabled for all engines (I think, let me know if I missed one, or if I missed the inversion of axis). Update to KM_Gimbal and MJ coming soon so that they play nice together.

TAC Life Support is now the 'official' life support mod of RedAV8R RSS files (and coming soon to RO) until ELCSS 2.0 by asmi comes online.

Two questions.

Is TAC obligatorily required, or is' support for it added. One of these doesn't let us use/load the mod without TAC, and the other pleases both sides.

Also, do you have an ETA for the LazTek Pack? That DragonV2 looks very tempting.

Woopert: Well RSS_Resources is still needed until Real Fuels is updated, NathanKell has it, just hasn't put the release up. Once that is done, all is well.

Coldblade2000: TAC is required, eventually when ASMI's ELCSS 2.0 comes out we'll make the switch over to it, but part of the experience of RSS/RO is managing life support, it's not hard. May not make people happy, but that is the way it's going to be. If one chooses not to use it, they will at least have to create the resources so that the game doesn't hang, the game will still be playable, there just won't be any consumption.

Never have posted a firm ETA on anything...I will say I am currently working on LazTek right now, and KerbX will follow. I've gotta go back and hit FASA again because of a new release, shouldn't take much to update it. After that I'll probably start on Lionhead stuff, unless there are any other requests.

There was a Real Fuels update yesterday.

My updates weren't included in that release, and unfortunately it also broke some things that previously had worked. Which renders my packs useless right now. This is the first message I've read this morning, and I've got a bunch of messages this morning concerning it, so maybe they figured it out.

I have an issue with OLDD apollo cm.. Can't attach the heatshield properly because the node is inside the capsule. Just thought I'd report that. Otherwise good job.

EDIT: in the FASA pack the heatshield nodes are messed up.. The pod is fine though.

There was a RealFuels update to v6.1 which DOES include the information needed to get rid of RSS_Resources.cfg, that file is no longer needed and MUST BE DELETED when using RealFuels v6.1.

Both OLDD and FASA are basically the same models. That said, make sure you have the latest versions of both OLDD and/or FASA as well as my RSS_***.cfg files. I can't replicate your issue, and you are the first to mention it. Yes, the node is inside the capsule, that's the way it is designed, but you can still attach it, just move the heatshield up and down a bit, it'll attach to the correct node. It's actually easier now than before w/o my files IMO.
