These are awesome! I hope they will be on CKAN!

I expect this mod to be on CKAN within 24 hours.

On that topic, @nazari1382 would you want any of the USI explicitly recommended or suggested to CKAN users installing your mod?

yes the version on Spacedock now should have USI Karbonite and USI life support as recommended mods. KIS is required for the racks and toolbox inventory/attachment. If users don't have USI installed, the usi toolboxes will just not have resources.

been playing with this a little bit, very slick. I hacked together a mm config for TACLS support for the mulch/supplies crates, which seems to be working (literally my first mm config ever, go me). I like the inclusion of the little generators as well.

Very nice.

The values may be a little off for these, I don't use tacls but tried to base these on the default containers. The tac parts have been in VTS for a long time, I just wanted to make the USI pack its own thing.

very nice, thank you.

Still surprised I haven't heard about this mod earlier; looking at the forum thread, there seems to be a slight jump in the time stream, heh. Glad to see it continued.

The VTS Toolbox is one of my favorite parts (it's a handier shape than the "stock" KIS boxes), but it looks like the config is missing from the USI release.  The bays say they can store a "vtstoolbox", and there's a "vtstoolbox.mu" model, but no vtstoolbox.cfg.

Also, the "KASModulePartBay" module has been removed from KAS, so you can remove them from the cargo rack parts.

They should be good now. Just updated both packs on Spacedock.... : /

I'd like to kindly request a USI pack that doesn't have Karbonite as a dependency. Not even UKS has Karbonite as a dependency, and for those of use running heavy mod loads who just want USI Life Support, having to install Karbonite is a non-starter.

Karbonite (the resource) is actually defined in the Community Resource Pack, so Karbonite (the mod) is not a dependency in the strictest sense -- the parts themselves should work just fine without it.  You probably won't find the Karbonite container very useful without drills, converters, or engines, but nothing should break and the rest should be fine.

@GreenWolf I didn't put together the files on CKAN, and this is looking like a good reason for me to not add mods to CKAN in the future. You can install VTS manually off of the spacedock link, and Karbonite is not needed.

@plague006 Please remove Karbonite from the dependencies.

Or, alternatively, you could handle the metadata yourself so that things like this don't happen. I have over 130 mods installed. I'm not going to manually manage all of them when CKAN exists. Anyone who uses more then maybe a dozen mods is going to feel the same way.

I think I'll opt for not worrying about CKAN. The mod was uploaded to Spacedock, that is where I am distributing it. If someone wants the mod they can get it there. Enjoy.

Sure thing thanks for the heads up.

For what it's worth Karbonite was added as a dependency based on the isntructions present in the spacedock description: "For compatibility with USI resources, you must install USI Life Support and mods that enable USI fuels(Karbonite)." Sorry for misunderstanding your meaning.

Just wanted to say this looks awesome, and I'll be trying it out immediately.

If you're taking requests, I immediately thought of uses for Glykerol from DeepFreeze and EnrichedUranium (CTT, used by both USI and NearFuture mods).  The latter of course should be heavily shielded.  ;)

Just trying this mod for the first time...really love any additions to the KIS system.  One small bug I have run into is for some reason your mod is interfering with the particle effects of the "beagle" engine from ven's stock revamp...This is a small thing, and I have no idea where the bug lies either in your mod or his.  Just FYI maybe you can investigate.

Thanks for all the work

This mod doesn't interact with particle effects or engines. Can you be more specific about what you're seeing? I have Ven's mod installed and it is showing effects.

Edit: your issue is probably his patch for engine effects. Remove VSR-Hotrockets from vens folder if you don't have hotrockets.

i wonder if it's compatible with the changes that was made in latest USI versions :/

From what I recall, the only support it really has is a couple of containers that hold USI-LS resources.  As the resources haven't changed, it works just fine.

Is this mod actively supported or in continuing development?  Are there any issues with KSP v1.2.2 which would be likely to cause difficulties?

No, but also no.  It's been fine so far.  I would love a bit of an update - a few more resources, and a couple more racks would be nice - but there's no problems with it.

Intriguingly, my original question is obsolete as to KSP version number.  As things stand, I'm willing to categorize this mod, for my own purposes at least, as inactive.

Which is sad.  :'(
