Asteroid Renaming?

Well i caught my first asteroid and i renamed it and returned to earth but when i go to look at the asteroid its name is the original name it had before the rename which is somethin like 0yb- 2fx. Why doesnt the name i gave it show up?

You renamed the ship that grabbed the asteroid - the game saves names for different crafts (groups of parts) so you wont rename your station/ship every time you docked.

Can you rename the asteroid now in the observatory (click the name in the info window to the right of the screen) after you docked to it once?

to rename a wrangled 'roid you have to right-click the asteroid, not the ship docked to it. i

I am unsure if you can change it in the Tracking Station.

You can. KerbMav's method works for any tracked asteroid, whether or not you've docked to it.

I captured the roid and renamed it not my ship but it does not show that i renamed it.
