Strong docking ports.

So, I'm like aero braking at Jool with FAR installed.

I kind of got rather alarmed at what happened, the landers are swinging around like crazy! But it all held together. I thought it was worth sharing for laughs.

So, those docking ports have some strength!

I have heard that if docking ports haven't undocked to what ever they were attached to from the start they are very VERY strong.

So if you attached those things to the main craft with other docking ports it makes sense. If not then hell they are OP :P

PS I've held a whole orange tank with the medium docking port attached to another medium one no struts or anything, it held even though it literally was "levitating" around 3 meters down haha.

They are ridiculous. Here is a very very bad design. Each docking port is supporting something like 100 tonnes laterally. The thrust from the LV-N's was low, ultimately built to about 0.2G, and the two landers bent WAY back towards the main ship, but never broke. Even more crazy bending during Laythe aerobrake. At which point I decided I hated the ship so much that I crashed it.

I don't think crafts can collide with themselves.

I'd say this is right - the research into K-drive has had to start from the biginning due to this!

I'm hoping my Jool - 5 mission goes a little better... you may have seen my mission report, i'm mainly worried about the drop tanks for the Jool aerobraking, but then I may have dropped a few by the time I get there!
