Character limits

I'm currently writing a fan story, and I update the original post of the thread with the full text of the story, kept under control using spoiler tags. However, I recently came across an error as I tried to add the most recent chapter. It stated that the post had more than 100 000 characters and I could not add any more. Is this correct? Are first posts unable to contain greater than 100 000 characters? Is there a clever way around this?

Probably the simplest way around it would be to put the story somewhere else, either on your own web page, Google Docs or some filesharing site, and link to it here. Put an excerpt in the thread perhaps to give people a taste and encourage them to go read the full version.

While we're on the topic, the 10 character minimum limit is useless since you can say:
