Kraken Drive

Hi dbmorpher here,

I just came upon the wonderful conundrum that is the "Kraken Drive". I've looked at pictures of people with their successful drives but have not been able to replicate their abilities exactly.

Any ideas on what I did wrong or how to fix it?

It's my understanding that some changes to the physics calculations introduced in 0.23.5 killed the kraken drive. Its heyday was 0.23.

A few ppl have got some weak K-drives working but generally they're all broke.

So what was the Kraken drive anyway? It looks like you made a rocket that gets thrust from clipped parts exploding once physics is applied to them.

Apparently that doesn't work anymore, but there is a thing called the Orion drive in reality which uses explosives to propel itself. The Kerbals I'm sure would love it, and I'd be shocked if there wasn't a mod that already has it somewhere.

My God, it's even more insane than I imagined.

Actually, in his video Scott Manley mentioned the problem with putting that much radiation in the atmosphere, but I don't think he said anything about the destructive force of dropping nukes at the launchpad. Bye bye, KSC!

Oh yes the orion drive yes I am quite familiar with that but no the ship I made doesn't explode it more or less just floats there
