Asteroid Redirect Training Mission Help

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow Kerbz!

I have been trying for the past day and a half to do this Asteroid redirect training tutorial mission. I do everything that the mission says. However, when my ship reaches the intercept point, it seems as though I reach the intercept point before the asteroid does. I am matching the orange dotted recommended orbit path as closely as possible but i always reach the intercept point before the asteroid does. What am i doing wrong and what can i do to fix it?

Thank you for your help!

When you reach the point labeled "Intersect", the asteroid should be at the point labeled "Target Position at Intersect". You do orbital maneuvers (which I personally suck at) to bring the two points closer together :)

Did that explain it or are you having a different problem?

Not quite, it seems that for the tutorial part, both Intersect and Target position at intersect are in the same place, meaning that when i hit intersect, i should be at least 100km close to the asteroid. However, when i reach intersect, the asteroid is still very, very far away.

Oh... that sounds like a different problem altogether. When you mouse over the Intersect, what does it say for distance?
