Setting up joystick for RCS use.

Recommended Posts

I bought a joystick a while back and had it rigged to staging yaw pitch and roll. Is it possible to make it act as RCS in staging and docking mode? For example, yaw up will translate up, yaw down, translate down etc. The little hat thing that moves can control forward, backward and rotation? I think that covers all the movement vectors.

Yes, that's what I did. In the 'Control' section, click on the parameter you want to assign, and carefully move the hat button in the direction you want it to go. I've also set up one of the buttons near the top hat to toggle RCS on and off, and another button to toggle SAS on/off (SAS isn't too helpful during launches with FAR).

can I set it to main joystick will translate docking style. While the hat will move forward back and rotate though?

EDIT: It feels like im forgetting something...

EDIT: Maybe this is what I'm forgetting, I want to control the space craft itself with WSAD just control RCS functions (forward, backward, left, right, up, down, Rotation) with the joystik.

EDIT: I figured it out!
