Attaching coupled boosters

Recommended Posts

Option 1), the editor extension mod might let you do this.

Option 2), are you sure they were connected by tri-coupler? You can get a nice bundle of three if you stick one to your rocket, then two others to that one. You can even top it off with a tricoupler after the fact (though it will, in fact, only connect to one of the boosters).

Mount a tail connector on a TT-70 radial decoupler so that the narrow end is pointing up. Then put a bicoupler under it and attach your SRBs to that. Optionally, add sepratrons to aid in separation. This works with tricouplers as well, although part clipping may be required.

Like so:

And don't forget to strut it! :)

Personally, I's rather use this:

Mount one radial decoupler on the main body. using no symmetry, you want just the one.

On this, put one SRB

Now, put 2 SRB on the one, using 2x symmetry, exactly to the sides from the decoupler.

Now, pick the decoupler up, with all the boosters hanging from it.

Select the level of symmetry you actually want for your rocket, and re-apply.

Instant sets of 3-boosters-on-one-decoupler, neatly arrayed around your main rocket.

Totally stabile, totally stylish, and totally light/cheap.
