How Big is it?

Recommended Posts

After watching 2001: A Space Odyssey and followed by SpaceBalls. The film->Kerbal effect got me wondering if there are any huge maxed Kerbal cruisers. The longest biggest baDass ship in Kerbal.

Now diameter is important so ratio of L:D should be noted.

Vessels can be space dock assembled or launched whole from anyplace.

List mods that were used.

Launching parts the Kerbal way = baDass

Behemoths must travell in space like bricks don't and must look very cool.

Here is an SSTO Dreadnaught it's pretty badass - I entered it in the Launcherception challenge and I'm currently 3rd on the leader board. I don't know the exact dimensions but the part count is over 700.

Here are all the pictures I've compiled while working on the Dreadnaught SSTO...

All KSP images have been moved here.

It looks really great and geet's into space OK, but other than that it's pretty useless for the most part. It makes for great target practice though - lots of parts, blows up real nice!

Also word of advice, If your gonna deal with space pirates, you better be armed.

385t payload in orbit, 485t on the pad. 24 boost engines mounted radially (ejected while still suborbital so they burn up) and a 12 minute RCS burn for orbital insertion. Plenty power (nuclear and solar), crew capacity: 49, 6 Clamptron docking ports. I wasted nearly 4 tons with KAS gear, because my KAS version doesn't actually work with 23.5(!), but my next big launch will be about three times the size with eight times the crew capacity.

EDIT: well, I tried, but it seems that my poor little laptop can't handle a mere 1900 parts (mostly struts!). That was a 2,000t monster with a crew of 967.
