EVA, without a net?

Recommended Posts

Say is it just me or does the EVA seem very very risky? Have the scientists on Kerbin discovered rope yet? Has this question been asked before? Is there a mod that allows the kerbal to attach himself to the structure on which he is EVAing?

Im just wondering about this little oversight.

Was watching Gravity, great flick, and I wondered why the Kerbals don't have a safety line to attach when going outside the structure , a line to prevent OFF STRUCTURE issues...

Rope is the bane of video games. There is a reason why rope is usually left as some static, dangling thing to climb on.

If you really feel like you have to roleplay, KAS will work well enough. Most people don't care though as EVA fuel isn't that hard to keep track of, and as long as you aren't having too much fun being an idiot, you won't be likely to run out.

Why do you need a rope when every kerbal has his own thrusters mountet in his spacesuit?

It would be kind of cool if the thrusters were something you had to research to be able to better EVAs. Until then, you were limited by the length of your tether.

Obviously, you'd need more stuff to do on a jetpack EVA first.
