AH-64D Apache replica

Recommended Posts

My best shot at the longbow, isnt a 100% finished as i have to fully cover it and make some adjustment to thrust/weight positioning.

Also, try to ignore the input visualiser thing, no idea how to remove it.

Looks alot weirder in screenshots than it does in the SPH, might update the pics later on.

It looks great but as you have used mods I have no idea how hard it was to make or how much creativity is used..

I'd say i've spent atleast 8+ hours on it (playing off and on at random intervals), most of the time fine tuning what ive already put on it. The only whole parts of this entire thing is the cockpit and the fuel tank that sits behind it, the rest is made of some struts/beams and modeled with pwing. The hardest part was probably filling the empty spaces created when making round(ish) surfaces and the tail section, as well as covering major parts of the cockpit/fuel tank with dark grey pwing plates, i'd say this took me the majority of the time actually building it.

snip..

Also, modeling with pwing can be quite a hassle because of system lags and the way the game handles wings used as structural parts, and it can be incredibly time consuming just getting the right angles. My p51d is an example of a craft that took me ages to form and fly:

The amount of detail is amazing. Well done!

One note: The Apache has no retractable undercarriage, it looks a bit weird if you do.

Interested in building a Mil Mi-24D?

Might build one, but i only play ksp when im bored/i have alot of time to kill, and usually it's just fooling around with mods.

I'll try to make one in the future though, would be a fun thing to do :)
