Just dropping in to say that I love the SPP Mk2 cockpit you did. I just took an SSTO up to orbit for practice with it and was delighted at all the buttons and seeing what they did and just generally messing around in it. It's incredibly immersive and captures the feel of the ALCOR capsule in terms of capability (yeah, it uses ASET props, but it actually feels as immersive and capable as ALCOR, not just looking similar). I did notice that due to stock limitations, the lower central panel is unusable if you zoom in to read it as the camera doesn't pan down that far (zoomed out though, it's fine, but then you can't read it as well..).

All in all, top job, and would love you to try the KAX cockpit - make it feel like a Boeing! And make it so I can actually see out of it (something a majority of IVAs don't allow.. I know it's because of their enormous heads, but just pull a subtle TARDIS - I won't mind!)

Hi ObsessedWithKSP (I like the name),

Thanks a lot for the comment, I am glad you are enjoying the pits as much as I am. I will look into the KAX cockpit for sure.

As far as position the view point, I actually found that a mod called KerbTrack (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/73184-0-90-KerbTrack-Head-tracking-using-your-webcam-TrackIR-Oculus-Rift-%282014-10-16%29), and you can actually adjust your center position, by that I mean you can offset you view up, down, or sideways.

I havent tried it much, but something to look into.

Hope you are going to do the MK3 IVA too, whenever Squad retrieved it from custom...

I am planning on it, but it looks like SQUAD actually haven't assigned any 3d model to the IVA, and I dont know 3d modelling myself (should start learning to get some props made that I've been waiting around for). :P

Hi MasseFlieger

I'm a big fan, those flight cockpits look so professional. I know you must get a ton of requests, but if you can't do the MK3 command module due to lack of 3D model, are you able to import the ALCOR props into Bobcat's fantastic NASA Orion Module from his American pack (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/81754-Release-BobCat-Ind-Space-Planet-products)

Honestly, that would be amazing. Even if you can't manage it, are you able to provide a tutorial/procedure regarding how to manipulate the objects in Unity? I've never done 3D work, but I have designed UI's professionally, so I'm not completely without know-how, a detailed tutorial might give me enough pointers to do it myself. I have flown a 100% IVA manned lunar landing and return mission entirely from within the ALCOR lander, but it isn't really suitable for the launch and re-entry. I would love a properly kitted out command module for the launch and re-entry, and NASA's latest command module, designed for a real-life manned Mars mission seems like the ideal candidate.

Keep up the good work dude ;)

first off: your work is bloody awsome.

mindblowing, DAMN.

second: small request, can we get an abort button in the Mk2 just like you installed in the mk1? the flip up red blinking light is just too badass not to have :D

(and possibly an emergency power in the mk1?(one can always dream ;) )

aditionally, your modification just saved my butt XD, i was flying the mk2 cockpit on my MK-7 revised SSTO, and ran out of power during re-entry (the mk-8 is in the works XD)

but i could turn the reaction wheels off, turn on the auxiliary power, and glide in on wings and flaps alone :D! (NEAR+deadly re entry ftw.)

now just to stop my ladder and the batteries melting...

also im not sure if its a bug or an ALCOR-pod-only thing but in the alcor you can put stiff in the description window:

" AG1=whatever the button has to say " and it changes the IVA AG1 style buttons to have a description label, maybe another thing you could add :)? just a suggestion because im in love with the models you assembled XD

hey guys,

just wanted to thank you all for your comments. I've had a pretty busy couple of months and wasnt able to check in as often as I would like.

I will be spending some time on this, and will post more updates as they come through.

I will start working on non-space plane IVAs as well, just need to figure out a nice layout to stick with so I can start placing all the props.

Something strange going on in the Mk1 cockpit. http://i.imgur.com/wtwNonu.jpg

EDIT: pretty sure this is due to me misinstalling the ASET_Props pack.

Actually - embarrasing fact: this was before I figured out that the plates had text configured in the prop. :) I'll get around to correcting this on the Mk1 as well.

I would love to see this implemented. Using action groups from IVA would be far easier.

Actually - this should already work, in all of my IVAs there should be a label below the button that should read the "AGx=action" text in the craft's description. There were some reports that it doesnt happen some of the time, but I have not tested it further to determine a root cause.

SNIP!

awsome, welcome back :) (had checked your profile and it already stated that you were away so i figured as much @ busy life :D hahaha)

also tested the naming functionality, it seems to work in the MK-1 (1 person jet) cockpit, but not in the Mk-2 or the mk-2 inline for some reason.

EDIT: i keep coming back to the forum post in the hope of new stuff but no such luck :(

Excellent work!

I'm currently works on updating my ASET_Props and if you have any suggestions about improvements of existing ones or creating new props or devices for the IVAs, I'm up to try to do. also i want to say that i have close plans to create several props (buttons and toggle switches) in the style of "boeing 737/777", something like this:

I have a suggestion about Mk2 cockpit prop arrangement. Some MFDs are currently rectangular, I've made them square:

Actually, this is not about rectangles versus squares, but I believe keeping the correct aspect ratio is important because many screens use various circular elements, which become ellipses when stretched.
