Request: Inflatable airbag landing system

Hello all-

I was wondering about the feasibility for inflatables, specifically for high speed landings for probes and landers. I believe this is how pathfinder was delivered to Mars. It allows for a much cheaper and lighter vessel, without having to spend the fuel to brake and slow down to land. Anyway, I don't know the ins and outs of modding and I know somethings are possible and others aren't. Anyone think this is doable and/or valuable?

You still have to brake, can't smash at 3000ms on the surface....
