What search engine(s) do you use, and why?

DuckDuckGo. Doesn't track you, doesn't try to customize your results based on your browsing habits, just displays the same results for everyone. I like simplicity.

Ixquick I'll guess is similar... they don't track you or profile your habits, and they user their own proxies. I bounce back and forth between it and Google.

Dogpile is a metasearch... just brings you results from multiple engines. Still good however... Arfie rules lol.

Somebody made a post about Google (big business) being our masters. They are only if you allow it. What you allow is what will continue. If the they are your masters, it's because you buy into it... hook, line, and sinker. Just gotta have that latest phone, computer, tablet, car, shoes, clothes, etc etc etc ... they play to your false sense of "I need this" and your vanity. You are the enablers. Think about it.

I use google. It's the first search engine I used, and then it (YouTube, gmai, Google itself, etc) became something that managed to find its way into many parts of my life.

This one and it's clone also, an interesting tools is the meta multithread search family, more specific. Why use one when you can use them all btw

I use Google for searches (via Chromium usually). I also use Google for email, but I'd like to eventually find another more trustworthy email provider.

Back in the day my search engine of choice was Excite - anyone remember that one?
