Been mucking around with VTOLs and thought this might be of interest.

25 parts, leaving room for science-y addons

Generous control surfaces & SAS means good handling. Flies well in stock 'soup' and FAR

Cruises at Mach 1.8 @16000m but capable of reaching 25000m+ in ballistic trajectory.

Cockpit parachutes - rescue Jeb even when things go pear-shaped!

Built in 024.2 but also tested & working in 0.25 & 0.90 (may look slightly different in different versions, but KSP still finds the correct parts to apply)

Because I'm currently playing in 0.24.2with around 500 addons (see my sig), including some of my own, and not all of them have been updated to 0.25, let alone 0.90! Some other people are still playing 0.25 for the same reason.

If I describe something as 'stock' though, I make sure it works in all the versions I list.

For info: The stock trucks I posted a while ago still work in 0.90 (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/102854-Earthlike-trucks-and-trailers-%280-24-2-0-25%29) but I won't bother necro'ing an old thread.
