Duna Rover Challenge! 0,90!

Recommended Posts

Lore:

One day a kerbal space program scientist had a crazy idea, Lets not send our astronauts into deep space with absolutely no idea of how the planet might look like! This idea revolutionized space travel sending rovers to every planet and moon possible, They still wanted a manned mision to Duna and need someone to explore the landing spot first, Later it had been claimed that the scientist hit his head when waking up that morning.

Challenge:

Build an Unmanned Rover with a maximum of 30 parts put it on top of a rocket and fly it to duna orbit, Deploy the rover withing 500 meters of the landing zone ( an MK.1 Landing module sitting on the ground somewhere) and drive it to the Research spot (yet another MK.1 capsule)

Rules:

You're rover may not contain any more parts then 30 parts this does not include any skycranes lander vehicles and or rocket parts

The rover may not be powerd by anything other then wheel power only This does not include boosters/rcs fuel used during seperation from landing vehicle

This chalenge is stock only!

Rover must atleast have these parts:

Any kind of comunitron

Solar panels (duh)

One ore more Iluminator(s) of any type

wheels (duh)

One battery of any type

Probe core (no rly?)

Double-C Seismic Accelerometer

Presmat BaroMeter

Gravmax Negative Gravioli Detector

2hot Thermometer

Screenshots:

One screenshot of the rover (and the rover only) in the spaceplane hangar (info tab must be open)

One screenshot of the Rocket in the VAB (info tab must be open)

Pre launch screenshot

Screenshot off any sort of staging you do

Screenshot of the encounter with Duna (in map view)

Screenshot of Orbit around Duna (in map view)

Screenshot Before touchdown on Duna

Screenshot of the rover/Landing vehicl landed

Screenshot of Rover next to the Research zone

Screenshot of Flight log (f10)

The recourse tab must be open at all times during these screenshots

Points:

Slingshot with any moon/Planet: 20p each (must have prove you did it)

Duna orbit: 5p

Land outside 500 meters of the landing zone: -20p

Land within 500 meters of the landing zone: 1p

Land within 400 meters of the landing zone: 10P

Land within 300 Meters of the landing zone: 15P

Land within 200 meters of the landing zone: 20P

Land within 100 meters of the landing zone: 25P

Reach the research zone: 5p

Recover data from duna back on kerbin (no sending): 25P

Ad Mistery Goo container to the rover: 2P

Name originality: 1-15p

rover looks:1-15p

Ill deside what looks good and is original

If the challenge is all about the "rover" arriving to explore ahead of a manned flight, why are you requiring two manned capsules to be landed prior to deploying the rover module and making the drive? I like the idea of a 30 part rover challenge, but putting two MK1's there first is a big turn off for me to participate, as is downloading any file in or order to participate. How about pics instead of a download for whatever information you're trying to convey?

Seems like you already dictated 20 out of 30 pots we can have, why not just make a precision landing challenge instead?

This has to be one of the most painful booring challenges I have ever done, the driving takes FOREVER and there's NO CHALLENGE WHAT SO EVER. Just BOORING GRINDDDDDD.

Slingshot with any moon/Planet: 20p each x20

Duna orbit: 5p

Land within 500 meters of the landing zone: 1p

Reach the research zone: 5p

Total = 411 Points
